Do I hide it or not put it on in fear?

    No ****in chance.

I'm guessing you yourself realise the poppy doesn't just represent troops that have died in Afghanistan & Iraq?

How is that stupid?? you feeling like you shouldnt wear on e for fear of upsetting a load of immigrants?? think you need to grow some balls Toby. Fair enough not wearing one if you dont think we should remember people laying down their lives for their country.. Thats your choice. You have the right to that choice due to people like my grandparents and I would imagine alot of other folk on heres Grandparents who fought in the war <ok> My uncle fought in the falklands was a para, My one cousin fought in the first gulf war and my other cousin was a para in N Ireland killing terrorists.

So it's perfectly moral for members of your family to go into these places and shoot at the natives - but it should not be acceptable that those natives come to our country and complain about it?

Do you misread peoples' replies on purpose? Or are you just that thick?

I said there are lots of reasons why I don't wear a poppy, I gave the old bint with a bucket some change as I do respect people that fought in WW2, but I'm not going to wear it like some ****ed up badge of honour. The fact that I mentioned people in my area getting pissed off about it doesn't mean I'm too scared to wear one <doh>

Your stupidity impresses me more every day <doh>

Do all you ****s do it on purpose to not read what's posted and just jump in randomly?

On a side note, I have very little respect for people that have joined the army post-WW2, but that's a different matter altogether.

Wouldnt say any of them shoot at natives... Perhaps they do in afghanistan.

WW2 shot nazis, Korean war shot communists, Falklands shot Argies, 1st Iraq war shot iraqies... Seems fair enough to me. Wheres the problem. None of them started by us. if you are basing your anti english on the most recent iraq war and afghanistan then thats a bit sad really. or you dragging history back even further??

I'm not anti English - England is home to quite a lot of really nice people, a few of whom I'd call friends, and I judge each one on his or her own merits. Despite being a citizen of the United Kingdom I don't have an allegiance to the British Army and I am not a British nationalist - so I'm not therefore encumbered with a nostalgia or reverence for the armed forces in the same way you appear to be. The majority of people I live around have a differing opinion to me on this subject and I don't hate them for it - I only ask that they accept my right to my own opinion as being equal and well considered, without the accusation that I am a bigot for not conforming to the majority.

My remark inferred to your comment about shooting natives.. Which would suggest that that's what you believe the British army has done in recent history.. Perhaps they did going back a couple of centuries. Would your preference be that the Nazis won??

The Prime Minister apologised in the Commons last year for the murder of United Kingdom natives by the United Kingdom armed forces. I didn't really want to get into a tit-for-tat though, I just seen you talk up your own views as moral absolutes - and tried to chip in that to others, even citizens of your own country, these views are in no way absolutes.
