The man, the legend Much better than his more recent celebrations, where he looks a bit like an OAP who is worried he's left the gas on, and not sure why all these people are shouting and jumping around...
In all seriousness, although I have a pathological dislike of your boss, you can't detract from his achievements at your club. Fair play to him, the bastard
This was a great match, in the Kippax at Maine Road in the corner. Brilliant evening, still reckon this is the best side we had;
Getting almost the whole team and Fergies autograph in my Manchester United autograph book in 99 was a great memory. I have a photo with Fergie from a trip to OT as a kid with all my memorabilia. Favourite none attended game was the Villa Park semi final replay. The 2 best teams in the country toe to toe and the way it turned out. Ive not attended a shed load of games and most were as a kid. Never had the chance to go pissed up so my favourite game was the 7-0 win over Barnsley in 97. Cole got a hattrick and Giggs scored a rare goal with his right. Best signings 1. Ronaldo 2. Cantona 3. Keane 4. Rooney 5. Schmeichel Worst 1. Tiabi 2. Bellion 3. Gorum or whatever he was called 4. Miller 5. Tevez for how it turned out. A loan though technically. I almost got taken to the City game you mentioned Ruff but would of been in the City end. My mums partner at the time was a City season ticket holder and was going to take me to try convert me to a a blue. In the end he took a mate from the police training thing he was doing at the time. I think it was that game anyway. I will ask my sister as its her dad and find out. He was miserable for days after .
I wouldnt mind arranging a trip up to a game soon.. If anyone is interested. I wanted to go last year but financial constraints meant i couldnt.. An early kick off saturday game would be ideal beer on the train up there beer afterwards then last train home..
Just lookin at the lists of worst buys and I can't believe nobody has put William Prunier - he was gone before the fans even had a chance to think up an abusive song for him. A truly shockig player.
Remember the famous 5-1 defeat at Maine Road early in Fergie's reign? Couldn't get United section tickets so a good few of us got tickets in the north Stand, dotted about the place in pairs. They scored early and no one noticed but by the third goal we were getting booted in the back of the head and gobbed on. All kicked off in the concourse at half time and I was unceremoneously thrown out at half time. Was in the car park when Sparky got the consolation and whiled away the afternoon playing pool in a Moss Side boozer!!! Those were the days my friend!
best buys for me: 1:Cantona 2:Keane 3:Bryan Robson 4:Ronaldo 5:Schmeichel honourable mentions: Irwin, Vidic, Evra, Kanchelskis,Yorke,Cole,Sheringham, Rio,Rooney,Hernandez Worst: in two categories who were shi t and who were s hit and expensive 1:Taibi 2jemba 3:Bellion 4:Nevalnd 5:Miller **** & expensive 1: Hargreaves 2:veron 3:Kleberson 4:Anderson (may come good yet) 5oborsky
