Evening gents. It's not great racing on Wednesday but there are winners to be found and I've located three. 4.05 Warwick Molly Mischief will win this bumper. Great debut. Beat some interesting types from decent yards but ran into a good Needles horse and had to settle for second spot. If it's not good enough to win this moderate bumper something has gone wrong with the world. 11/4 1pm Chepstow Roger Beantown Gave The New One a race until the end on hurdling debut. Can't see this losing. Will be a poor price though. Too short so not bothering with the bet. 2pm Creswell Crusader Honeyball inmate who's not particularly fantastic but at this level, when fresh, is a tough nut to crack. 7/2 Bada bing.
Don't know what you're talking about Dexter. Don't know about the chases but expect you are right. There's a good hurdle race there but they can keep the rest.
Poor card...tbf though not bad offerings at Kempton with a Listed event and some decent maidens there and also at Nottingham. Nothing inspires me so far though from a betting perspective.
I agree there Dex, SBC no bet banner is already waving for me. Goodluck with your bets BB, you seem confident so best of luck there.
Obama currently trading at 1/80.....surely cannot be vanquished...enjoying these TV planks saying it's still "in the balance".. Have been tempering such boring Americans with some red wine and poetry from the great Sir John Betjeman who said his biggest regret was not f***ing enough when he was young (that bit is true) and not consuming more Rustler Burgers (can't verify that tbh!)..a real creative stimulus by all reports!.... Works for the Div 1 champ!
Sophie Leech drops Nicene Creed right back in trip to 2 miles in the opener at Warwick and I just wonder whether this might be his day. Formerly with Phillip Hobbs, Nicene Crede won 2 novice hurdles, finished 19 lengths 4th to Cue Card and ran in the International Hurdle won by Menorah. After an abortive try at novice chasing in 2011 he was sent back over hurdles off a mark of 120 in April and after 3 PUs his mark has plummeted to 105 today. Perhaps he has completely fallen out of love with the game, but I'm risking a couple of euros e/w on him today at 33/1 in the hope that he decides to have a go today.
Morning, troops. Today’s NH action looks somewhat insipid and so therefore I will point the old regular readers to 2 running this eve at Kempton Park: Twary (5.55 Kempton Park) – to my eye this one looks a class above his rivals in this 7 furlong maiden and I can envisage a nice win for Roger Varian’s steed here. Beaten less than a length on his debut up at Haydock in August Twary had the useful Professor just behind him on that occasion (has since won off a perch of 90) and he finished just behind the smart Miss You Too who ran a corker last time to finish 2nd in the £300,000 Fillies sales race at Newmarket and is now rated 93. Such form I think puts him above his rivals and current quotes of 7/2 look more than generous. Italian Rivera (6.25 Kempton Park) – one of my greatest skills has always been to understand what old rogues are up to and undoubtedly that old Prescott rogue has been up to something with this well bred son of Galileo. He makes his handicap bow here off a ridiculously low 51 and if he can’t scoot up off that then I will be very, and I do mean very, surprised. Italian Rivera will benefit enormously from the big step up in trip and is racing against a lot of exposed and quite frankly poor horses here. Good luck to all.
I see that dual Cesarewitch winner Aaim To Prosper is now with Mr Nicholls and is being prepared for a hurdling career. Bit late in the day for that in my opinion – the old boy is almost 9! And as we all know ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’.
OddDog..are you going to try and solve the Quiz question today ? You wound up Ron the other day when you didn't actually know the answer yourself...New Approach is closing in on you !
The old Elite Hurdle at Wincanton on Saturday is looking like a Corker with a capital "C" - Zarkandar, Local Hero, Balder Succes, Prospect Wells, Escort'men, Baby Mix
There are three apparent steering jobs today as follows... 1.0 Chepstow 7 Roger Beantown 1.30 Chepstow 6 Sin Bin 7.25 Kempton 13 Net Whizz I may be backing Sin Bin only though will check him out at lunch-time ! Also a couple of others to consider Each Way or Tote Place... 12.50 Warwick 14 Kings Troop 2.55 Warwick 5 Iron Chancellor Good Luck if you play !
I might add that Silver Friend is a non-runner at Fairyhouse.....Sizing Gold is a very interesting prospect in the 2.15 there with Seefood the one to beat...maybe a Dutching win bet in order for some ?
BostonBob..why the need for sarcasm ? I didn't taunt you for the losers you put up,yesterday..so why pick on me now as you tried to on the thread last night ? Problem ?
