I don't think Hughes was a bad appointment on paper but sometimes it doesn't click and we're at his 10 game mark for new teams to click (and it is a new team of sorts) so it's crunch time.

The worst happens in the next 2 games and the axe must fall.

Trying to think like TF, who should it be?

I'll throw in some criteria that I'd hope he'd consider and would like you all to convince me that there's someone worthy.

I'll exclude 'Arry because he's of an age where he won't want to steady a ship for a younger man to take over again.

    1) Compensation paid to get the right man is not an issue.
    2) Has to fit the "vision" - ie build for the future and embrace the whole new structure.
    3) Has to have Prem experience (either as player or manager) - we need someone who can hit the ground running.
    4) Has to have stature and man management skills otherwise someone like Cisse will try to take over and the dressing room respect will be gone.

Not unreasonable criteria for the position we're in.

    The floor's all yours.....

TF's really not going to sack him. Please understand he's talked himself into a corner and doesn't want to look weak or reactionary.

The penny dropped for me today. I'm bloody fuming.

You're on the money. Hughes is going nowhere. We're just going to have to hope the majority are wrong.

TF is not going to sack Hughes....that much is clear. Time to pray that he can turn it around imo.

I'm going to throw something in here that maybe offers a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel and is not a train....please bear with me.

After 10 games last season we were 12th with 12 points - P 10 - W3 - D3 - L4 - F8 -A17, this season reads 10-0-4-6-8-19. So although we are 8 points worse off we have scored the same number of goals and conceeded only 2 more than last season. Also this season our games have been against somewhat better sides than last season so 8 points is not alot in real terms (except if you are playing rubbish!!!)

Now after 10 games last season Wigan were bottom with a record 10-1-2-7-6-17 and 5 points and look how they managed to get themselves out of trouble. So I know this is clutching at straws but it is a tad early to be all doom and gloom, there is hope, it just needs one win, somehow, and i believe we will be mid table by April.

Forget who did what and when last season. All that matters is here and now!!

I did say it is clutching at straws, but it also shows that an escape is possible.

Not with Hughes it ain´t, he shot himself in the foot when he said he would never be in a relegation battle again, that for me shows his complete arrogance and lack of respect for every other premiership team, he is delusional, living in his own self-important world.

Not going to disagree with you Madrid, but whether we like it or not we are stuck with him, so the team has to have our full support, otherwise we just drift and sink without trace and do a Pompey.

A bit harsh, the interview took place when emotions were high.
I would like him to resign citing his own professional pride as a Manager and his personal integrity as the reasons.
    Long shot, isn't it.

    Please no !!!

Living in swindon has few highlights (wife and son aside) but the day Paulo Di Canio arrived was honestly one of the best days of my life. Rare as a QPR supporter that we ever get a chance to have a good laugh a other fans expense but that was a day to remember, the joy in the locals faces when they heard the news, then confusion as the media hyped that he was a fascist which he quashed instantly by announcing "yes so what I'm a fascist". So everyone shut up and changed the subject, what a start, but where would he go from here?

Well next was a charity fun run which in he was supposed to run a couple of miles, didn't go quite as planned. Our Paulo only took a wrong turn and ended up doing over 13 miles when he was only supposed to do 2. What a plonker. Then he seemed finally to be on the same wave length as many QPR fans when he "allegedly" attacked Leon clarke. Bye Bye Leon.

it goes on and on, the pubs around here are full of amusing stories.

QPR will always have my support but I have no faith in Hughes, like I said a few posts back for me it was the crowd and the players response which gave us our survival last year, Hughes just happened to be there at the time.

I am sadly coming to this conclusion too. No point asking for him to go, as he won't.

BTW Madrid did i read earlier that you are over for the Saints game? If so looks like those of us travelling from Ireland are gathering in the Crown & Scepter as the nominated establishment to partake of a pre-match pint.

    Keep the Faith

Benitez? And you wouldn't consider Di Canio, not even for the song?
