3-0 up in 20 minutes, Cardiff defending shocking. Can see them bottling the playoffs! In which case i can't see what reason Gerrard would have to stay with them?
no probs aye mate they look it. atleast our result came from 4 bad mistakes.. cardiff just look hopeless. good for norwich though, a win for them tonight and they're automatic promotion in 2nd place.
Boro have been well worth it, Cardiff dreadful, losing their discipline too, can't see how they'll keep 11 men out there. Incredible how Jason Koumas has ever had any sort of career
I'd prefer Ayala and Chester at the heart of defence for us. Being very greedy could we gett Ayala, Hobbs and Gerrard? Any chance we can swap Gerrard for Oli? If we can get Mannone in as well as Dudgeon then we will have an even better defence. How does this look? Mannone Rosenior Ayala Chester Dudgeon Stewart Danns Evans Koren Simpson Fryatt
I posted a very similar team to that a few days ago. I didn't include Mannone though, don't think we'll get him. Gerrard wouldn't come here just to sit on the bench either.
I'd rather see a big Windass type next to Fryatt. That's a good team, but I think we'd still struggle a bit for service up front.
You're right about that, and i'd like to see him playing for us again, chipped in with a good few point winning goals aswell so you can't go wrong with that. Say we could potentially acquire both Gerrard and Ayala's services though, who gets the boot?
I would rather see Ayala and Chester. Chester looked great at CB but he isn't good enough at RB or CM. It would be a shame to see him wasted on the bench.
Interesting to see how strongly Boro are finishing this season, can see them competing up near the top next season (hopefully alongside us!)
Yes but their financial problems are still an issue. Still a few big earners such as McDonald, emnes, arca, McManus. They will be better next season, though.
I think they'll be keeping hold of Mcdonald despite the wages mind you. It's Kris Boyd who they're looking to get rid of. But yeah, i definitley think they will be competeing in the top half of the table next season. They've improved massively under Mowbray, and have been missing several key players through injury for the best part of the season. It's not going to be an easy ride for us next season.
Plenty of teams will fancy their chances next season, sides like Ipswich and Coventry could well improve over the summer with new managers in charge. Brighton and Southampton look decent, the losing play off teams will fancy their chances and there's the teams to come down as well. By the start of August we'll know whether or not we have a squad capable of challenging near the top or not, and also know how our rivals are shaping up. I would however rather us be considered as dark horses for promotion as we seem to do better when we sneak into the promotion spots under the radar!
I can't decide what I want, if Cardiff go up we'll have no chance of getting Gerrard, but we'll have one less quality side to worry about for next year. I think teams like Norwich and Swansea probably wouldn't be as good next year if they had stayed down (I realise Norwich have been promoted by the way) but Cardiff will always be up there as they have by miles the best squad.
