No REV my point exactly ! Anyhooo, people tend to forget that 'pool spent over 40 mill. in the last window without, forgive me , a huge return, given 145 has been earmarked for the upgrade , whats your ball park figure then for the January window ?

call me mad but when LFC signed carroll people were saying he was the next big thing, they called the signings of downing and henderson sensible as they would provide assists for others (mainly in the case of downing). and you played a blinder getting £50m and £8m on damaged goods in torres and babel.

was it not club policy to sign young english players? as a dalglish supporter i'd argue he was asked to identify players with potential, and it cant be doubted that the players he signed were showing signs of being excellent, carroll was tearing up the league at newcastle and spurs were another team who were simply outbid by LFC.

you say 'we are short up front' but rodgers had a summer of transfer dealings when it was painfully obvious yet decided to offload what few strikers he had, why? kenny knew LFC needed more firepower, the fans knew it and the media knew it.

but he chose to spend the money on the players above which although some may come good, none could be classed as being more needed than strikers up front.....

The money spent in 2011 was criminal, no one could doubt that. Ridiculous and summed up Comolli well.

Carroll will never be worth £35M... It was probably the worst transfer deal ever. I can't think of a worse one.

It's worth noting we only got Downing because Young chose (understandably) United. The ridiculous thing is that we thought 'oh well let's just get Stewart' instead of casting the net wider afield.

Rodgers - and this is common knowledge by the way - thought there was another striker arriving when he allowed Carroll to go on loan. A combination of the owners and Ian Ayre were to blame.

Ffs, I imagine we'll spent up to £20M or so. Maybe we'll see a departure or two (Enrique and Downing perhaps) also.

Dalglish spent money like water and what he paid for carroll was unbelievable. I cant see carroll ever playing for Liverpool again as he is not the type of player Brendan wants and wont fit into his style, he would not fit into ours either come to that......He is a good player for some teams but not worth anywhere near dalglish paid and Liverpool must take a big loss now for him to move on...... January cant come quick enough because Liverpool are playing some good football but a piece of the jigsaw is missing to turn all them draws into wins......

    To anyone:

How long do you think it will be before Liverpool overtake us? (if at all)

No Bro , I've just had palpatations looking at that again! Brilliant!

I sit with my kids in the South Bank looking down on the goal and as I saw Pratts coming away with the ball then kick it , I thought wtf is he kicking it for, then , where's their goalie ? I hadn't seen their goalie run to go up for the corner cos at that moment my youngest decided to drop his sweets all over the place disaster for a seven year old at the time , so I get back to my feet having missed their corner to see Pratts turning with the ball , and the rest is history, so were my boys sweets I dropped em again in the celebration  some parent eh ?

Wonderful memories and let's NEVER forget the part played by Dobbie and Prats in helping us get where we are now. And the same can be said of Scott Sinclair. They could not be described as legends but they played a huge part in our rise to the top and I will always wish them well in their future careers.

Ivor, not forgetting De Vries (although I think I forgot how to spell his name)
That game against forest was one of the best atmospheres I've experienced at the Liberty. The game against Leeds in league 1 was special, but that play off semi with all the drama of the away game and the expectation surrounding the home tie was phenomenal.
The work was done at forest with 10 men so the crowd at the Liberty sensed blood and it was bouncing all game.
    Hell of a night

Well I new you'd be in the mix Dilli! that goes without saying...............<laugh>

I was behind the Forest Dugout for that game in the West Stand, and Pratley was right in front of us as he hit that long shot to score, man I haven't laughed so much in a long time. The Forest boys were good support in that game too. The Only other time that I've sat so close to the away fans was when Kairdiff came to town, and Bellamy scored that one and only wonder goal, and the grease ball Chopra came out of the Dugout and gave it big to us Swans fans, if the Stewards weren't so close to me, I was very tempted to throw my grease burger at the fat lump of lard!..........<laugh>
