    More selective memory.
In 2005/2006 Steven Gerrard scored 26 goals in all competitions from the right wing. In 2008/2009, Steven Gerrard scored close to 20 goals playing off the front man( Torres). I think you should check your facts before commenting.

I'm pretty sure his goalscoring would be lower if you had a good centre forward who can lead the line - someone like RVP or even Tevez / Dzeko. He's taken something like 70 shots for his seven goals this season, so if you had an out and out striker he wouldn't get that many chances. But if you had a number 10 like Rooney or Aguero he'd probably get the same number of goals, cos they'd lay the chances on a plate for him whilst also giving him an outlet.

Shame the rest of your team is nowhere near as good as any of those... <whistle>

  3. I tend to agree but you also have to consider that if there was a goalscorer next to him there would be less pressure on Suarez to score too. I think he would score less but I also think his ratio of shots to goals would improve too. His assists would absolutely improve IMO <ok>

Rest of our team isn't good enough (at present in some cases), hence us finishing between sixth and eighth the last two or three seasons <doh>

    Gerrard:
    2005/06 - 53 games, 23 goals, 11 assists. 0.64 contributions per game
    2008/09 - 44 games, 24 goals, 11 assists. 0.80 contributions per game

Like I said, none of them have averaged a contribution per game over a season, tho Fat Frank got pretty close in 09/10 and Rooney got 40 contributions (35 goals, five assists) in 41 games last season.

What was it you were saying about fahkts again?

Yep, the whole world will be rooting for Obama tonight. It's a dangerous game Romney is playing by publicly claiming China is a currency manipulator and then threatening to bomb Iran..

I have to disagree with this. Suarez has previously played alongside natural goal-scorers at club and international level and his goal-scoring record has remained the same. However if he were to play alongside a natural scorer at Liverpool now, his assist ratio would increase significantly.

Look at the 3 goals he laid on a plate for Dirk Kuyt against Manchester United in 2011 to see what I'm refering to.

Maybe but would they want him as a striker? His preferred position is left sided forward is it not so a little silly signing him to use him down the middle.

Plus there are vastly better options for the striker role <ok>

Only once has he ever got a significant assist return. 14 in 08/09.

Fact is hes not so much of a provider and with a out and out goalscorer he wouldnt be much of a goal scorer either.

Hes a 15-20 goals a season man in the right team over in england. Nothing to laugh about as thats a very good return and probably 5 assists. He seems likely to assist the assister. Like Berbatov was.

Oh there are many better options available for someone to lead the line, but Chelsea don't have any of them! Given Chelsea's current squad, with Mata, Hazard and Oscar pretty much shoe ins as the 3 in a 4-2-3-1, Suarez would be better as the number 9 than anyone else they currently have.

    Again maybe.

The best way to decide is to look at the last player Chelsea signed from Liverpool for this £50million figure your quoted earlier. If we look at how thats worked out and based on the fact said player was a demi god at Anfield we can make a guess at how it might just work out should Suarez make a similar move <ok>

I believe this former Liverpool player who shall remain goal....... nameless also has the benefit of Mata, Hazard and Oscar <whistle>

So what you're saying is he's found his level in mid table. I think he's a bit better than that and will soon get ****ed off with having to carry the rest of the Liverpool side. He's 26 in January which means half his career will be over. I don't think he'll want to piss the rest of it away fighting for the last Europa League place. He'll move on to somewhere like Atletico Madrid. I don't know how old their manager is or what their debt position is like but if they offer him enough money he'll be out of Liverpool like he stole something. You'll have to go back to ****ing over Gerrard KPR.

Poke the KPR, poke the KPR....await the rage <ok>

Aye, but you can't assume that one player will necessarily go the same way as another. If Suarez played in front of Mata, Hazard and Oscar and turned out ****e then he'd be dropped, but as it currently stands if you had to choose a number 9 from Suarez, Torres and Sturridge there would only really be one choice.

Luis Suarez knows long term he's at the right place, he knows only too well that playing in a side that contains top quality midfielders is much better than playing alongside the 8th and 9th choice England midfielders Carrick and Cleverly.
