Rooney - 7 games, 2 goals, 5 assists = 1 crucial contribution per game
Suarez - 10 games, 7 goals, 2 assists = 0.9 crucial contributions per game

So even when off form Rooney > Suarez

a lot of toss being talked on this thread then... all we need to know is utd are shi1te and liveprool are too. that is all.

 

Lets be honest here. Everyone in world football knows Rooney is a superior player who brings more to a team.

Rooney doesnt have to be the main man but is quite happy to do so. When hes the one expected to finish off the attack he bags 20+ goals every time. 27 last season, 34 in 2010. When Rooney is the player creating the space, the opening and involved in the build up he is equally as good if not better. He still gets a bag full of goals but equals those goals up with assists.

As for not being able to beat a man. He uses his intelligence to be in the right place, make the right pass or pull away the defender to create space for others. He doesnt need to beat his man so often as United have a far superior team and have many more options. We dont rely on one player like Liverpool hence why Suarez has to do all the work.

 

Just think what Suarez's stats would be like if we had someone else that could finish

IMO, those stats strengthen the case for Suarez rather than Rooney. The latter is surrounded by better more experienced players at Man Utd, Suarez would get muc more 'crucial contributions' if he was surrounded by better plays IMO

Edit: I should probably add that I don't care which is better. We have Suarez and I wouldn't swap him for Rooney, I'm sure it will be vice-versa for the Man Utd fans

Or.... because hes doing everything the goals and assists are not spread through the team. Suarez gets more goals because hes the only player who knows what a net looks like at Liverpool and he gets so few assists because hes the player who needs to be on the end of his own pass to convert them.

A more balanced team could see Suarez' contribution drop or it could see it rise. Depends on the role he plays really. At the minute hes expected to do the lot.

According to Swarbs, 2 goals is better than 7 goals. I think he should stick to his own board, as it has less life on it than the City board and thats why he's here. Can we start a petition to have him removed as a mod for talking gibberish.
