Very true Tom. I'm confident, not like me I know:biggrin:, about Saturday though. Should be a more open game. 3-1 to us!

Will be at Swansea game and believe we will get a result. Play like we did in the 2nd half against Spurs with a full house behind them and 3 points are in the bag (okay...I'm forcing the optimism there). We have to start free scoring again, because we sure as hell won't stop them scoring. Having said that, every team has an off day...hope a black cat passes in front of the Swansea bus.

That's right you do.Although five or six would be ok and would keep you in touch. That seven point haul from three matches has revitalised our season.

Have to say the fans were great at West Brom, definitely premier class. Fans must stay behind the team (no doubt of that)...we've had some good times, but Saints have had bad times before...rest of season to play for.

Agreed noise was first rate. Clearly majority still behind Nigel too!

Well what a bloody night that was !
The traffic was a absolute mess getting off at J1 on the M5, which is only a stones throw from the Hawthorns - it took us an hour and a half to do half a mile and we didnt get into the ground until nearly half bloody time ! Lots of others in same boat including many Baggies fans - some told us they had never seen traffic that bad there before.
And the game - well, only saw just over half of it but it was as difficult as many of us thought it would against a really good, fit, athletic WBA who fully deserve to be 5th in the league. Saints didnt play bad imo but Albion were a much better 'team '. We had no luck either which often seems the way when your down - Rickies shot hitting the bar, deflection off Yoshida for 1st goal, def penalty right in front of us when Lallana was knocked over, etc.
But our play was too laboured for much of the time in comparison to theirs, the decision making when passing the ball around surely has to quicken up.
Some of the posts on here durin/after the game from the usual armchair hero's would make me laugh if they were not so bloody idiotic - but thats football fans for you. And to those of you who were posting yesterday about Ramirez 'destroying' teams and being our one-man saviour - calm down, time will tell but the lad has been out for quite a few weeks and needs to get match fit, but he is far from being Matt le Tissier just yet !
Clyne was good and young Shaw did well in his short time on the pitch. The rest looked a yard too short in the head and the legs at times.

Very good support for the team last night and Nigel Adkins got another huge vocal backing from the travelling support - just hope that him coming on the pitch to applaud us was not a farewell gesture.
Roll on Sat and a big game v the Swans - who are also no mugs.

Thought for a moment you had only just got back! Now that would have been a traffic jam!

It was quite bad when I got there at around 6:15pm but not that bad. I was parked by 6:45. Moral of the story, leave plenty of time!

You are right Tom but had to wait for my son to get home from school before setting off, then had to drop my wife at friends in south Brum en route, bla, bla, bla !! We would normaly have been parked up by 1900 but must have just got caught in it - you were just about lucky i reckon. Apparently there were 7 different incidents in the area. Lots of local fans caught in same jam said they had never seen it like that before.
Anyway what did you think of the game !! ?

Ha ha - thankfully not so bad - got home at 0145 as had to collect trouble & strife from friends house in Birmingham on way home. We were sitting in this long queue of traffic frustrated to hell but saying that we wouldnt mind missing it so long as we won - alas we got the worst of both deals.

I was reasonably satisfied with the first half. We were still in the game although our defending, yet again was comical. The key point in the game was undoubtedly Lambert's miss when he should have scored. If he had scored, it would have been 1-1 at the start of the 2nd half and would have given the team a much needed confidence boost and we could have gone on to win. But alas, we conceded again and I could visibly see all the fight drain out of the team. Rodriguez and Davis should be dropped for Saturday. Start with Ward-Prowse and Mayuka/Puncheon.

Pretty much agree with this. Comical isnt the adjective i was using last night at times though ! Rodriguez just hasnt stepped up to the plate generally has he - feel sorry for the lad as we all expected a lot of him, hopefully it will come good in time. Maybe just how/where he is being played. Looked isolated out on the right much of the time. But yes - if Lambert had scored instead of hitting the bar right at the start of the 2nd half it may well have been a different story. The last couple of seasons that shot would have went in for him.

Seems a bit unlikely though considering he has no links to anyone now at the club. Well except Jason Dodd. The point being unless Nicola is an avid Wikipedia reader there's no reason that Strachan would be above anyone else on any hypothetical list. Di Canio is Italian = must be Cortese's best mate (apart from Berlusconi).
