No, it was his way of thanking them for their support of him and the team

Real shame we looked like getting something before there first and then after that there was minimal inspiration and absolutely sod all luck.

Much better in the second half...we are just not getting the breaks that we did last season...deflected goal against us, yet Rickie's shot gets deflected onto the bar, had that gone in it was game on...then we get done by a sucker punch long ball goal when we were looking threatening and a stonewall penalty on Lallana. We weren't bad tonight and one positive is that young Shaw looked comfortable when he came on.

Apparently Adkins had tears in his eyes waving to the Saints fans and applauding them...?

    End of an era.

Disappointed but to be honest I like Nigel and I hate the lack of ethics in the Premiership, bring on the Championship with Nigel

So it was my subconcious working overtime then... somehow I don't find your assurance that reassuring...

Welcome back GMI! Very funny and witty comment sending yourself up! You are like Dr Who! You undergo a regeneration periodically!!

We desperately need to put a team out there that can stretch space...half of our problems (the other half being our appalling central defense when dealing with a striker taller than 5'3") stem from the fact that teams can comfortably stack players in midfield and have all the time in the world to get players into the box when we're in possession. We're simply not going to score goals with that much congestion, and Nigel's real challenge is to find a team that can actually generate chances before the defense can set up. If he cannot, then we're going down.

Been behind him for so long, but don't think Adkins is up to scratch. Ramirez was nackered all game, even my girlfriend who never watches football picked up on him being sooo sluggish, tidy passer but didnt look like he was adding too much. Subs were far far far too late on, why are we changing the left back, Shaw looked better than Fox, but not the point, the back 5 should remain the same all game barring injury. Guly was god awful, i guess he was bought on for his physical presence, but he is with out doubt the worst player in the air i have ever seen. We have to buck up our ideas, from about the 50th minute i knew we wouldnt score (unlucky on lallana's blantent penalty though) we were so flat, no final ball, no ideas at all was so embaressing to watch. We need to change it up because at this rate, after 20 games in january, it will be too late.

I don't care where they are in the league, West Brom away is one of the few away days you have to get points from if you want to stay up, we barely gave Foster a save to make.

Well I have to say I didn't think we were that bad, but no attacking player really had a good game either (Fonte was decent and I thought Yoshida and Fox were actually really good). First goal was again from an overload down the right wing, but the second goal was just quality from West Brom, nothing we could have done about that in the circumstances and we had to push men forward by then.

Lambert had a great chance at 0-0 and Lallana maybe should have had a penalty, I don't know why he didn't appeal, maybe wary of getting booked for diving? Certainly looked like he was caught though. But West Brom have two enormous centre halves and pressed really well, not many teams would have got anything out of them.

Didn't think Ramirez looked fully fit, he was giving the ball away quite a bit, and Lallana had a pretty poor game as well. No reasons to be too disheartened though, this was never a winnable game. Swansea at home on the other hand, I would expect us to do better...

Think Adkins is gone, the way he came over too us. Think he knows his time is up, **** defending again like always. Fox tucks in far too much and Lambert looks well off it.

    Naa.

It only takes when exaggeration from someone on twitter who has just seen the same footage as all of us to say that.

Adkins is the right man for the job but he now needs to show some balls. Lallana is a luxury for us in front of fox. A ton of attacks from everyone we play come down the left. He needs to sacrifice a little bit of creativity for some solidarity. If nothing else play shaw and fox. Let's start to be a bit boring and do some defending. Play 4-5-1 with gaston just behind Lambert. Play puncheon or mayuka on the right turning their full back.

Well you get the award for the first Guly knock, and then a Fox bash to boot well done.
