Interesting why Schecter came on instead of Graham. Great for Schecter but would have knocked some more confidence out of Graham. Much happier with Michu up front though. He actually gets shots on target. What a novelty.
Graham was already on the pitch by the time Schecter came on. Schecter came on for a knackered Michu and played his part in the equaliser.
Too early to say for me, im suprised he got on ahead of Moore but maybe Laudrup was after a quick nippy player in and around the box, itay fits that better than moore. He probably needs alot more time to adjust to the pace of prem football as one little mistake and the centre half has you for breakfast..
Itay showed a nice bit of skill to receive a pass from Pablo in the box, turn away from the defender and lay back to Pablo for the goal.
Luke Moore seems to be getting frozen out. And we were all saying he deserved a start after the Reading performance.
Don't think Laudrup gets enough credit for Saturday. Made a good tactical switch bringing on Graham for Britton. IMO we have more of a 'plan-B' this season.
But if you're losing then taking off a holding midfield player and bringing on a striker isn't exactly a groundbreaking tactic.
Aswan, probably Monty was just making the point that he actually tried to alter the pattern of play, rather than a like for like change, we've seen so often in the past...
Michu came off because he is only 1 yellow away from a suspension, so very good switch to bring him off. Haven't seen much of itay but he did well when creating the goal, great touch and turn then a decent lay off for Pablo to finish.
I thought he did ok really. I don't think he laid the ball back to Pablo for the goal though, I think the defender actually kicked it towards Pablo in trying to tackle Schecter - good turn by him and did well to get into the position though.
Yes, nothing groundbreaking, but in times gone by we'd have seen 'like-for-like' substitutions, especially seeing as we were playing well against a top team.
Did you see AVB's great tactic of replacing Defoe with Adebayor when they were 1-0 down? The fans were incensed. I think ML definitely has a bit more nouse than many managers but also his substitutions always seem to be about trying to win the game.
