OK so this is complete prejudice. But vertain quotations about other countries make me chuckle. For example:

There are few more impressive sights in the world than a Scotsman on the make.
Belgium is the best remedy against patriotism
A Welshman prays on his knees on a Sunday and on his friends the rest of the week

If this rings any chords, what favourite quotes do you have about other nationalities?

An American walked into an English pub and asked for a pint of Budweiser.

The barman replied "You're American aren't you?"

The man says, "Yeah. Could you tell by the drink I ordered, or the accent?"

The barman replied. "Neither, you are the fattest ****er I have ever seen."

Not hard to understand when you see the fatties in action - eating doublecheeseburgers with double thick milkshakes for breakfast. I have seen this in airports.

When I was living in america, the sizzler down the road from me put a 3 hour limit on customers being there because people were going in and spending the whole day there just eating constantly. This is seriously a true story

American citizens have been truly and absolutely brainwashed by businesses whose only concern is making a few extra pennies where ever possible. The way they play on psychology with marketing is absolutely unbelievable. Their portions are bigger and they charge less money for them. Why? Because then the customer feels they are getting value for money, and will go there again, eating more food than they needed because they are given more food than they needed.

Their advert breaks are shorter and more frequent. Why? Because then you don't have time to get up and go do anything else during the advert break, so you're sat at your TV while the adverts are on. In the UK, I don't believe I know anybody who doesn't just get up and go for a piss, or to get a cup of tea or something during an advert break. This makes it easier to brainwash people.

It's absolutely pathetic, but the only people who suffer are poor people who aren't aware they're being brainwashed, and nobody gives a **** about them, right?

    Marko

Again when I was living in america, we went to TGI Fridays and we got a free meal with every meal that we got. We said can we not just order our meal and have the next person get theres free but they said no, we have to order our meal and get the same free. Therefore every person at the table had two meals. Its unbelievable how much food is served there and as you say there portions are bigger as well

With a lot of our programmes, 30 minutes per half hour would be about right.

Plus we have our wonderful socialised television service, aka the Jimmy Saville Appreciation Society, with no ads at all, of course

Funny how this has become focused on the US (though you did start it, Jonny ;) ). I had hoped for some good anti Scotsman jokes, I am a fan of them in particular. Ah well.

DVRs have killed that and most people simply fast forward through ads these days.
