Pete O'Rourke ‏@SkySportsPeteO "Sky Sports understands Leicester are set to sign Man Utd duo Jesse Lindgaard & Michael Keane on loan.#MUFC #LCFC" A midfielder and defender respectively. Could be good additions.
Am I the only one to be concerned at the potential threat of upsetting the balance of what is clearly a very capable squad by chopping/changing & adding to it - We're having a blip, its no biggie - The current squad have already proved they can outplay anyone in the division
Lingard is actually a forward, he likes to play centrally just behind the striker, apparently(that's just off the Man United profile page, I've never seen him play).
So that will be Danny Drinkwater, Tom Cleverley, Nicky Adams, Ben Marshall, Richie Wellens, Matty James, Ritchie De Laet, Michael Keane, Jesse Lingard all signed by Nigel who have links to Man U He signed loads for Hull aswell Either Nigel, Shaky or Walshy have some very good contacts at Man U
Pleased with this, must confess I've never heard of Lingard (?) but Michael Keane seems to be highly rated at Man U (despite having a bit of a 'mare against Chelsea last week) but we do need some strengthening of the squad, and I'm glad Pearson has finally addressed this. Most other teams that have got promoted recently made good use of the loan market, and I trust Steve Walsh's decision on these players (Davies, Cleverly and Spearing were all pretty unknown when he signed them).
If this is true its good that we have found defensive cover, as we saw on Saturday, we were spread rather thin at the back, and would be the same the next game with Zak out. If we're top 2 in January with their help, sign em up
Lingard is very highly rated at Man U. I think Nigel has brought him in to help us unlock teams as apart from Knockaert none of our creative players are doing much recently. Marshall has gone off form and Dyer just runs and always has done. I would have preferred someone with a little more experience then Keane unless its a loan with a view of a permanent deal in Jan. Nigel has already said he prefers we sign players as to loaning them. With Liam Moore already inexperienced at the back we cant afford another one. St. Ledger is back in about 2 weeks so maybe Keane is just coming in for a month until Ledge returns? Who knows
We still have no real cover for Konchesky, when ever he plays **** he will stay play next game as their is no one else since Tom Kennedy left. Schlupp can cover as emergency but nothing more
This is what Fergie said about Lingard in the summer As for Keane all I know is what I seen of him against Chelsea last week. He looked good considering who he was against but saying that he conceded 5 goals and was lucky to stay on the pitch
We dont need any more of these players which leads me onto this: He seems to be playing with more composure, i thought that he'd be one of the big earners moved on in the summer, but hes really upped his game, although i agree with your point, we cant have him miss a game and have only Schlupp to replace him for a full 90 mins.
I see Keane as a backup to Konchesky and Lingard as a backup to Knockhert. Don't see any problems with that - we have FA cup games to come so need a bigger squad.
Used the fewest players in the league- the fact we changed so little despite defeats recently suggests this. Most teams who've been promoted used a lot of players- QPR a few years back. Wikipedia says he's a fullback so I'd imagine he's here as cover for De Laet, Mr. Injury.
It was Scott Wootton who had the shocker against Chelsea. Keane played very well against them according to the Utd fans who rate him and Lingard highly. We do need another creative player because we haven't been creating too much recently and again I trust Walshie with this as he has an excellent track record.
