Hull City 4 wins out of 5 for Steve Bruce's side, up to 5th in the table and 3 points from top spot holders Cardiff shows things are going rather well with the Tigers lately. The most recent game being a 1-0 win grafted against Barnsley thanks to Aluko's 1st half strike. The Tigers are looking strong lately and have shown that they can put in a great performance to win, but also be just below par and still get the result. Signs of a strong side, however the lack of depth due to the lengthy injuries to Joe Dudgeon and Matty Fryatt means City don't have many replacements, especially on the left. Bruce has been enquiring about players available to loan and one name has been cropping up on a regular basis - Robbie Brady. If fans are to judge how the Season will pan out for City based on form so far, Tigers fans should be expecting a top 6 finish. Wolverhampton Wanderers Not in a position that most people expected them to be, and having some seriously inconsistent form under Stale Solbakken. Wolves most recent game ended in a 2-0 defeat at Turf Moor to Burnley, and epitomises their - from a Wolves point of view - frustrating start to their Championship return. Wolves have been defensively weak lately and that's an area City need to be exploiting their new attacking prowess. Forwards Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Kevin Doyle have only 9 goals between them but have been spurred on form midfield maestro Bakary Sako who has also nicked in with 5 goals himself. Should the Tigers be able to keep Sako quiet, there shouldn't be much threat at Amos's goal. Super Tiger's Prediction Another difficult game and a hard test for City's squad in terms of quality and fitness. City have been showing signs of fatigue lately and need to at their best to take 3 points as Wolves can be very dangerous on their day. Ebanks-Blake and Doyle are big, strong presences on the field, and whether McTorres can handle the power and pace and aerial battles is one to debate. Although, should City turn up and play confident with their passing, flowing football, it can easily be another 3 points at the Circle. I'm going to go for a 2-1 win for the Tigers. Top Scorers Hull City Sone Aluko - 5 goals Jay Simpson - 5 goals Abdoulaye Faye - 3 goals Aaron McLean - 3 goals Robert Koren/Stephen Quinn/Nick Proschwitz - 2 goals Wolves Sylvan Ebanks-Blake - 6 goals Bakary Sako - 5 goals Kevin Doyle - 3 goals Danny Batth/Frank Nouble - 1 goal
don't underestimate Wolves but their manager is still new. Big Faye will be key for me in dealing with their strong forwards.. tiredness and niggly injuries to Rosenior & Bruce Jnr. 1-1
This is a danger game for City but, if we're serious about promotion we should grab a 1 - 0 victory against Wolves
Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham Steve Bruce hopeful Alex Bruce will be fit for Wovles tomorrow. Elmo (thigh) and Rosenior (groin) also minor doubts, fitness checks tomorrow.
We'd be ****ed if Rosie and Elmo don't make it. Wolves are viscous beasts but tigers are far superior in terms of individual ability, so long as we send the battle scarred experienced tigers out rather than a load of cubs and prevent the wolves from hunting as a pack, I think we can tear them to shreds and scare them away from returning to our turf anytime soon. Who's ever heard of a gold wolf anyway? 4-1 city.
If Rosie and Elmo don't make it, we'll have a back four of McShane, Chester, Faye/Bruce and Dawson. I wouldn't fancy that against Wolves.
Wolves' last few results have been far from impressive, and their performance on Saturday was described as lacklustre. I hope they don't pick tomorrow to put in a performance. Any sort of win would do
Disagree, we need to build up some sort of goal difference, and as we seem totally unable to do that against the lower clubs, we're going to have to give all the big boys a spanking. I expect to see the wolves lot going home with apples firmly strapped in their gobs.
Toughest game since a while for us this one, Sako looks a beast - would hate for us to have both wing-backs out against him. I'd be happy with 2 draws from the next 2 games, anything more would be a bonus.
With us only being 3 points behind Cardiff, it would be brilliant to get the win against Wolves, keep the pressure on and then obviously play Cardiff on Saturday and get right in the mix if we can manage to nick it there!
Tuesday night matches haven't always been us cuppa tea.. but the prize is glittering.. beat Wolves and topple cardiff on saturday and we could go top whilst nursing a very satisfactory hangover sunday morning.. time to dream..
