The prune writing this (James Middleton) has been clearly asked to write adverts for Ladbrokes! His punditry is awful! He also predicted that the best value was for Spurs to hammer Wigan and not concede!
Admittedly he also predicted Chelmsford to beat Colchester but then anyone on this board could have told him that (apart from Colu Mike!)

Firstly this bloke clearly knows very little about NCFC and really shouldn't be offering any sort of opinion as it is generally better to say nothing and have people think you're an idiot rather than say something and confirm to people that you're an idiot.

However I think that the thrust of his argunment is that IF you want to bet on Norwich going down then now is a good time to do it as we are on a good run and have a few points in the bag and so the odds have lengthened. Should we struggle in the next three or four games then the odds will shorten again and the "window of opportunity" will be missed.

That said the bloke is an idiot as he seems to be implying that we did not deserve a point at Villa.

Less than warranted point against Villa?

Which villa fan did he take that from?

I THINK he's saying the opposite, although I thought what you did upon first reading.

I do agree though, it is an inept piece of writing. I'm unsure as to what point he's trying to make re: our defense against Stoke being the same as it was against Liverpool, like it matters, but hey-ho - if he's working for Ladbrokes and is encouraging people to bet against Norwich then he obviously doesn't think we'll go down!

Christ, you're not wrong mate - what an absolutely dreadful piece of 'journalism' <doh>

Even the compliments are way off the mark - as much as I love him I'd hardly say Hootun has "proven time and time again that he's capable pilot" in the premiership?

    Dear me

If not, then I haven't seen the other offending article of journalism!

thing is, because it is for a bookie, it does leave an element of doubt in my mind as to whether the author believes what he's writing or is merely trying to lure punters in, suggesting norwich are now a good price so go and bet on them to go down, its easy money - that is, after all, his job. i have no problem with that - were i not a norwich fan right now i'd be looking at the odds and thinking 'i agree, that its a good time to take that bet.' but i can't find anything in his article that is correct about the club. its startlingly bad <ok>

Looking at the odds I would say that QPR look a brilliant bet to go down at 2/1 against.I am tempted to wager a few quid myself.Ladbrokes are not the bookie offering that though, whereas their 11/8 against us is the best price available, so yes,he is trying to drum up business.

Since our modern-day Nanny State is determined to look after us, rather than leave us to rely on our own common sense and the well-tried adage "caveat emptor", it surprises me that companies can put out this stuff without making clear that the writer is on their payroll and his opinions far from independent. The financial advice sector is governed by strict rules, but this clown, whose message is about where to "invest" your money, is getting paid to pull the wool over punters' eyes while nanny keeps mum. Typical. <ok>

I don't really know why anyone would listen to a pundit anyway.

They are mostly thick, regurgitate stereotypes, cliches, consensus, repeating the leading question as their answer and contradict themselves as to what elements are important to win a game.

There are so few interesting people in football who genuinely have good ideas, concepts or analysis.
