• Best Driver: A few of note, but I’m gonna give it to the Kimister, nothing to do with the fact that he’s one of my Fav drivers ;-) • Worst Driver: Webber, IMHO, caused two accidents and had the nerve to blame the others! • Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Grosjean was doing a great job driving back through the field before Perez took a few people out! • Best Team: Between Lotus and Redbull, will give it to Lotus for the win. • Worst Team: McLaren, seriously have the HRTs failed as often as the McLarens? • Best Overtake: Vettel on Button • Funniest-moment: All of Kimi’s conversations with his race engineer! • Most Surprising Result: Redbull cocking up with the fuel, don’t they know only McLaren knowingly or unknowingly sabotage their own drivers! • Least Surprising Result: McLaren sabotaging Lewis title bid, they’re not doing it on purpose they’re just that ****e, Whitless must go! • Special Mention to: Lewis, in a class of his own this weekend, doubt anyone would have got anywhere near him, would also like to give a mention to the Williams boys! • Race Rating: 8/10 • Best Commentator/Presenter overall: The BBC team of DC, Edwards and Anderson, didn't hear "I Crofticous" but I bet he was dire again!
No, that will be in Austin, when the early season Pit stop curse will return when he’s in the lead by 25 seconds, dropping into the pack headed by McLarens new wonder kid, Perez, who will punt him off going into turn 1 with a lunge from 50 meters behind the breaking point! On a serious note, hope McLaren sort out Perez’s impetuous nature, since his move to McLaren he’s not impressed me at all!
Best Driver: Vettel nobody seems to like him but after being at back of the grid twice, to come back and claim a podium is a really impressive performance. Worst Driver: Webber, not one of his better days. Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Ricciardo, not much in it really though Best Team: Lotus Worst Team: Mercedes Best Overtake: Alonso on Webber Funniest-moment: Vettel and Ricciardo Most Surprising Result: Maldonado, see what you can do when you're not acting a tit? Least Surprising Result: Hamilton engine failure Special Mention to: Raikonnen, excellent race win. Race Rating: 9/10 Best Commentator/Presenter overall: DC
Best Driver: Bruno Senna. Amongst all the hype about Vettel, Senna quietly drove through the field to get 8th having had all the hinderances that Vettel had Worst Driver: Webber, seems to crack more when Vettel gets a result against the odds. Best Rookie: Dunno really. Ricciardo Best Team: Lotus Worst Team: Mercedes. Showing that Powahhh is nothing without a decent chassis and drivers Best Overtake: Alonso on Webber Funniest-moment: Vettel and Ricciardo/Kimi on the radio Most Surprising Result: There were actual overtakes during the race Least Surprising Result: First lap incident for Grosjean Special Mention to: Raikkonen. Race Rating: 9/10 Best Commentator/Presenter overall: BE. Like his style
Best Driver: Vettel Worst Driver: Webber Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Pic Best Team: Williams? Worst Team: McLaren Best Overtake: Vettel on Button Funniest-moment: Webber trying to somehow blame someone else??? Most Surprising Result: Vettel on the podium Least Surprising Result: Hamilton's car once again breaking Special Mention to: Hamilton, Riakkonen and Senna Race Rating: 6/10 Best Commentator/Presenter overall: DC
Best Driver: Tempted to say Vettel, but he could have won this were it not for the forced pit stops due to unforced errors. I'll go with Kimi Worst Driver: Quite a few mistakes from a few drivers. I'm going to go with a tie between Webber and Perez. Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Vergne Best Team: Ferrari, but purely because of other team's mistakes. Worst Team: Mercedes Best Overtake: Vettel on Button Funniest-moment: Kimi on the radio Most Surprising Result: That Yas Marina produced a good race Least Surprising Result: Vettel ending up on the podium Special Mention to: Williams for getting both cars in the points Race Rating: 8/10 Best Commentator/Presenter overall: I don't get the chance to see a lot of the pre/post race coverage these days so I'll elect to not answer this one.
Best Driver: Hamilton: in a class of one all weekend. Worst Driver: Webber/Perez Best Rookie: Several decent performances, so I think it would be unfair to choose one over another this time. Best Team: Ferrari. Worst Team: I'll excuse myself from this too. However, McLaren were not the worst team. Basing such a choice upon an unusual mechanical failure is hardly fair â and based on Hamilton's speed alone, I cannot fathom the logic of some people's choice here! Best Overtake: Button on Maldonado (somewhere around lap 25). Easily the best; it was technically superb and brilliantly executed. I notice that many have followed suit and awarded this to Vettel on Button; but the reality is that this was Vettel doing precisely what Webber had done twice earlier, leading to difficulties on both occasions. The only reason Vettel's move did not meet a similar fate was that Button backed off (unlike di Resta, for instance). Yes, Vettel v Button was a great example of top quality drivers; but the reason we can applaud it is because Button backed out of what would otherwise have been a collision. Funniest-moment: Räikkönen on the radio. Most Surprising Result: Räikkönen's victory! Least Surprising Result: Vettel getting close to the front. Special Mention to: Räikkönen: congratulations on a superb drive to victory. Race Rating: 8.32/10. At the time of the multiple shunt which took Webber out, I wrote down in big letters: ' FARCE ! '. Best Commentator/Presenter: Ben Edwards. Sky's 'Crofter' is a complete ⦠⦠(70s disc jockey who likes the sound of his own voice too much).
Driver wise, they are nothing special. Vettel+Alonso is special. Hamilton will bring whinging and stress to the Mercedes table, coupled with a **** car will be funny to see.
