    This is a serious question

what do you take as banter and what do you think is 'wumming'

I think Multi-Team forums are made for banter where we can give each other abit of grief but end it with and actual debate, yet i never see this on either board as everyone seems to have a go at the other for being a Wum?

so would you enjoy having a bit of banter or would you rather just have no input from other teams fans?

This is exactly the kind of debate we don't need and isn't going to help.

Can I ask if the mods would be kind enough to delete this thread.

Not having a go mate, far from it. Just obviously there's a lot of trouble recently about wumming so its best to steer clear of the subject <ok>

I think what Sunderland fans on hear find annoying is that when the boot has been on the other foot and Sunderland fans have took the piss on your board, your mods have wielded the axe pretty quickly and deleted the comments..

Why don't you just do what Liverpool and United do and have a banter thread on the more popular board and try to keep posts in there?

Nowt wrong with a bit of banter mate, **** me, that's what forums are all about. There are a certain minority who are just hell bent on highjacking threads just to cause disruption, they're just attention seeking whores in my book and don't contribute anything worth listening to. They are the ones who need to be weeded out but certainly nowt wrong with a bit of good old light hearted banter mate for sure.

Can't comment on the you ban us situation, no disrespect but i never come over there, i'm a Sunderland fan and have no real interest what happens on your board but i'm sure you get the unsavoury type as well. From what i can gather your mods are a bit trigger happy? If that's the case then you can understand a bit of ill feeling.

You'll always get some people who are a little more sensitive than others. I've always felt that rather than MODs of each board trying to adjust to suit everyone (impossible), its for people to decide what they see as banter or wumming themselves, and then decide if this is the site for them. The MODs on this board and most boards are fairly liberal in their approach. If people think they are letting too much fly or disagree with them on what amounts to banter or wumming, they probably just need to find another site.

I think wumming is more points on a scrabble board, but I;m sure banter is an older word. Wumming gets a red wriggly snake under it when you write it - like boycoutt - so it must be a nasty word.

My mam told me never to use nasty words, so banter is best.

Mind you..... mam has a wriggle too, but PLEASE let's not go there.

Tbh The town i live in is quite split between Sunderland fans and Newcastle fans so i am genuinely interested to see what your fans think about things aswell and thats where i think the banter comes into it, i know some people will take it too far but i also think (like on our board) that people do react way to sensitively sometimes

Same situeation for me howey. last year there were a couple of adolf style moderators who blocked wot they didnt agree with. Hope 'debate' n banter continues. As for the boot on the other foot rubbish that doesnt hold water cos the boot is never on the other foot is it!!!!

Like any aspect in life, you have to build relationships first before you go gung-ho with your humour, or people will probably not get you and take everything you say seriously.

The likes of Warm Pouch, QWOP and a few other mags have built relationships over time, at first very little and timid 'insults/banter' to test the water and gradually built up, to be able to go full on without any offence taking by the Sunderland lads. We get to know each other over a period of time and what will be acceptable and what's crossing the line.

For me this is where TTT has failed, nobody has had laughs/banter/serious conversations with him over any sustained period of time. All most people see is this stranger coming on spouting **** about our club and nobody is going to accept that, especially when things aren't going well for us, off a 'random' mag.

I must maintain that I speak as I find, and I've personally never had a problem with TTT and had the odd civilised chat with him. However, I have seen instances where I can see why a lot of people would be upset with him.

TTT, it's all about building relationships first mate, but I fear it may be past the point of no return unfortunately.

No, we're not allowed to "debate" with you lot as much as we'd like to.
