    A lot of people say, " If only Kenny were here from the beginning..." I say thank God he wasn't this year! Can you imagine the stuff Hicks and Gillett would have pulled if we had hit any slump with Kenny? No money? Everyone in disarray? I think Kenny came at a perfect time, got rid of an old style coach, fresh ideas, knows what Liverpool means, and on top of that no debt to deal with, no owners saying what you can or can't buy.

    He came in at the right time. I don't want to know what H & G would have tried to pull with Kenny, it probably would have been ugly as Kenny would have fought back like Benitez did, but with a lot more support.

    Most likely would have ended up a mass boycott of the matches and with our team doing even worse!

    When Kenny came in, so many rival fans percieved it as a "desperate" move, he was too old, been out of the game too long, didn't have the heart for it, blah,blah,blah.

    Guess he proved them all wrong, he's galvinised the club, reintroduced the feel good factor, and most importantly got us playing football again.

    I agree.

    Kennys management has the players playing well, not the feel good factor of him arriving back at hte club, that alone is not going to last 12 games. The job he has done so far instils belief in the players that he is the right man, this is the most important factor, if like with Roy players believe he is not the right man and thawhat he is doing is wrong in their eyes, you will not have a team playing with confidence if there is NO CONFIDENCE IN THE MANAGER:)

    The players beoieve Kenny can bring success and Kenny has demonstrated he has the tools to do so, they are the underlying factors in continued confidence and the good performances we have been seeing. If the team was made up of Liverpool fans I would understand all the players having this honeymoon period but I would say most before they came to the club knew little of Kenny and as such can only respect what they have seen since arriving at Liverpool, Carrol Suarez and a bunch of others would have got little or nothing from Kennys mere arrival other than what he brings to the team through his skill set and passion for the job, his no nonsense approach is also needed, but unlike Rafa, Kenny can talk to players as peers and not like school kids.

    in nutshell Kenny has turned the team around by instilling confidence through doing a very competent job, not by his mere arrival.

    Spearing and the other young lads are having a honeymon period, this is all huge for them, and Kenny has brought them so I am sure they are "Smitten":)

    JS is looking like more than a squad player though, he was very good again yesterday

    Not only has he got us playing again but in direct contrast to "Out of the game too long" he's playing some of the most advanced football to be seen.

    Thats the best assesment thus far.
    Players are different.With some of the players it ''He's the manager,when he says jump,we say how high''.Others hang on every word he says and when he speaks they listen.It happened under Bill Shankly too,only Emlyn Hughes and Kevin Keegan worshipped Shanks.They hung on every word he said.He moulded and shaped them,They were his projects as such.It happened believe it or not at Manchester United too under Alex Ferguson,same thing with some ''He's the boss,when he says jump we say how high'',with others they worship him,they hang on every word,when he speaks they listen.

    In fairness Fergus is the last of a dying breed, how many times do you see these players throw the toys out and move? I've always wondered how the likes of Shanks, Busby and others would cope with todays modern prima donna's.

    I don't think you should be talking about 5th, let's be realistic guys.

    I think the real question is, will Bolton beat Liverpool to 7th? I think it's very possible.

    I agree with that.
    Ferguson applies 'modern management with old fashioned values''.Kenny is the same sort of animal.The players that don't know him all that well are afraid to put a foot wrong.The ones that do know him worship him.The same applies to Ferguson.He has players at United he's worked with for years that hang on his every word.He has players there that are scared stiff of him.Its managing with an ''Iron fist in a silk glove''.

    By the way, just wondering if you all feel like I do in that Tottenham will beat City in that game in hand? Everytime City look comfortable in a game or look halfway decent, they completely switch off and forget how to play!

    I think 5th will come down to our game if both teams take care of business with everything else.

    Yup, I tend to agree with you there.

    I reckon Spurs will beat Citeh and 5th may well come down to the game between them and us. We still have to play Fulham and Villa away though so I wouldn't say it's nailed on that we'll get 5th with our away form this season.

    Personally reckon we'd be better off getting 6th and doing without the distraction of the Europa league.

    I would like to have Euro football but if it gave us a chance to really focus on FA cup and league, then it could be good in the long run. Also, with City more than looking like they are going to be in the Champions league, they are going to be splashing on the biggest and baddest this summer I feel. I can see them spending at least 100 mil on say Kaka ( they need more attacking players right....) a big bid for say a Ramos in the back, midfield could go after a sneijder type player. It will be crazy money spent.

    Spurs - Played 34, GD = 7, Points = 55
    Tottenham v Blackpool
    Man City v Tottenham
    Liverpool v Tottenham
    Tottenham v Birmingham +7 points.
    Points = 62

    Everton - Played 35, GD = 5, Points = 48
    Everton v Man City
    West Brom v Everton
    Everton v Chelsea +3 points.
    Points = 51

    Man City - Played 34, GD = 22, Points = 62
    Everton v Man City
    Man City v Tottenham
    Man City v Stoke
    Bolton v Man City +8 points.
    Points = 70

    Liverpool - Played 35, GD = 15, Points = 55
    Fulham v Liverpool
    Liverpool v Tottenham
    Aston Villa v Liverpool +9 points.
    Points = 64

    Bold = Draw,
    Green = Winner.
    Blue = Ending points.

    That leaves us in 5th, Spurs in 6th and Everton below them somewhere. Most likely Man city will be in 4th.

    Those are my predictions for the end of the season anyway.

    If Man City lose their next 3 games (against Spurs (H), Stoke (H) and Bolton (A)) and we win our next 3 games then we will go into 4th position 2 points above Man City.

    If Man City lose 2 of their next 3 games and draw 1, then we will only go 4th if we have a superior goal difference. Currently Man City have 21 and we have 15.

    If they lose 2 and draw one then they'll be on 63 points. If we win all 3 we'll be on 64.
