Neither of our teams covered themselves in glory, today, but at least yours didn't lose. We lost and looked utterly woeful. Even the Mousers would have beaten us, on that performance. Sorry, but AVB has crunched the gears and stalled the mighty juggernaut.
Today went more or less as I expected, apart from the Hammers frustrating MC! Swansea under Laudrup are going places, but we should have sealed it after Moses scored! Nontheless I had us down for a draw and so it happened! I thought Fergie's lot would edge it even though Clattenberk couldn't turn out for them, as they managed to get a good sub for him!
Nobody comes to the liberty and gets a free ride as you should all know, man city man utd, arsenal liverpool and yourselves have been matched or bettered since we returned to the top flight....both teams could have won yesterday if they had taken their chances......
Same old story, everyone one who plays us says they had an off day... What a pile of Carp... ManC not playing well, liverpool playing weak side, Blues playing crap and Tores blah blah.... The quality and money you lot have on the pitch - you replace injured and suspended players with players that cost more than our whole team.... <rant over>
Bit of a fact really that we were sub-par imo. It was hardly up to the standard we played last Sunday was it. You had a good result, you deserved a point for sure but....there's no two ways about it we did not play well at all which helped your cause.
I'm sure you're right Bloo, and I expected a right spanking, but it's also true that all we ever hear is how bad a day teams have had - why is it never, Swans play a really good game that makes it hard - or wow impressed by them... Still think you're gonna win the league, and hope so too...
Thanks for your faith in us! Personally I think we will have a tough time to win the PL this season. Bit short on firepower up front methinks + our squad looks a bit thin once you get much beyond our 'best' eleven. MUFC and City have terrific squads and can almost field two teams apiece - bit like we could a few seasons back. Will depend on what we do in the winter transfer market!
Bloo--Oh ye of little faith! We have a great squad with excellent new signings who are quickly setting the Prem on fire! Our problem as usual will be fighting on 4 competition fronts. Perhaps a January window signing/ bringing back on-loaners may help but although Drogs has gone Robbie is about to take into a different class !
I hope we do win the PL truly I do but as we currently stand I think these things go against us: - Strikers; woeful. Torres is *hite imo, Studge is a second-stringer and the two Manc's clubs have us beaten hands down with upfront options. Fixable but we need to spend - more abuse coming our way if we do! - Our fabulous attacking midfield, one or more will get injured, will be interesting to see how they cope with a long spell of matches played in the cold on geavy pitches. - The WCC; great for the marketing guys but a liability at a crucial time of the season. *** I honestly do not see us having a 4 fronts squad at the mo' and maybe we are a season or two off of winning the PL again.
Can't really argue with any of this. If Torres was firing we'd have a real chance but when you look at the striking options City and United have against ours, that is the sole difference. If we'd have bought RVP instead of United, we may well be favourites now.
Torres may be performing like a geriatric BUT we are banging in goals galore as a TEAM--and thats the important thing!! 2nd highest in the Prem and even Torres has a place in the top 10
