You are repeatedly saying this Brix, but I can't for the life of me see it mate. He isn't playing the right players or using the right tactics imo. We are being out-played through the middle game after game. We will probably lose Faurlin in January, as he should be starting every game imo.
Despite Sunday’s draw stretching QPR’s winless league start to the campaign to 10 games, Hughes is adamant that elusive first victory will prove key to turning their fortunes around. “The sooner we get it, the better," Hughes continued. Really?
Not the first time the players dont go over to MH when there is an injury. Weird. Has MH ever been in a dogfight with a struggling team??...hmmm
The problem is we have weaknesses that cannot be addressed until January, by then we'll be done for. Get shot of him now, bring in Redknapp who will man-manage us up to the window and then I would expect some loanees to make the difference, 'Arry is a master of wheeler-dealing which is possibly our only chance, MH has proved clueless in that area...
I can totally understand everyones views here, but I can also understand TF's stance. Stability is key and to change after a few (well 10) bad results is madness imo. We always knew it could be a slow start to the season and it should have changed by now, but give him a little more time thats all I ask. I have said many times end of this month is my limit. Thats roughly 13-15 games.
Judo it's not just the 10 games mate, it's the never winning away under him, the disciplinary issues and only 6 wins yes 6 in the league under his guidance
Hey, at least we're not bottom anymore! .....sound of breeze, tumbleweed slowly rolling through shot.....
As I say I can totally understand the anger against him as he certainly hasnt set the world alight at QPR and the stats dont lie at all. I just hope that we can all give him a little more time to get it right. But my frustration is also growing at the moment. I am sick of going to games home and away and constantly watching mistake after mistake in our performances. Something isnt right for sure and I suspect a few players are growing tired of Hughes really.
We made Leigertwood look good today ff.... this line caught my eye.... The reason to get rid of Hughes is he is slowly letting us fall apart... The problem , who will take on a squad that is neither here or there tactically... The problem is getting someone who isn't gonna stay for money, leave when or if we drop... but stay drop or not. We are QPR whether in the premiership or not. It is the damage to our culture that I worry about... maybe I have been blinded by the shiny world of the premiership, but the shine has been rubbed offend Hughes aint no genie.
Didn't say it's riskier to get rid than bring someone in like 'Arry. Tbh, I'm not sure whether it's riskier to do one thing or the other - just suggesting it might not be as wise as people think to ditch Hughes when there are signs (such as those mentioned in the OP) that things might be coming together and with a bit of luck, could pay dividends. As Wubba (I think it was) pointed out recently, if 'Arry's the answer, you can probably kiss goodbye to Ideal Taarabt. Who's really up for that atm?
Apologies for repetition Col but saying I can see green shoots is central to this particular thread. (I've never said it before now.) You on the other hand ARE a serial repeater old son. Formations, tactics, Taarabt and Faurlin are very common refrains with you. I know what you think and sympathise quite often, but for the reasons given earlier, none of these things are relevant to the subject matter on this occasion. Seconds out. En garde!
Legs was always quite good but just inconsistent. Today just happened to be one of his better days. Gorkssie on the other hand was always a real asset and selling him when and at the price we did (c£1m?) was a travesty. I know it dented our armour today but from a purely football angle, what a shot from a CB too! Loved the lamp and genie metaphor though!
I meant that you keep saying it on this thread. We will just have to agree to differ Brix. I can see that the quality players we have will sometimes play well and give us some good moments in games, but I maintain that Hughes is clueless and will take us down. And why should I not keep on repeating my ideas on formations/tactics OLD SON? We have never been above 17th with Hughes and have never won an away game under him. I sit and watch games with my 13 year old and he can see as clear as day that we are getting repeatedly out-played in midfield and that's where our biggest strengths should be. You are saying that you can see green shoots with Hughes in charge....I am saying that all I can see is relegation.
You have....and oi....enough with the !!!!! I get enough stick about that already. I guess it's just that a lot of the points I try to make on here are EXCLAMATIONS!
