    Ok, we've got loads of threads about (or descending into) how our performances aren't up to standard, our players aren't up to standard, our coach isn't up to standard... But siblings, let us not be downhearted... One total catastrophe like this is just the beginning! <ok>


    This thread is for any and all positive thoughts my Geordie supporting brothers (and sisters... from now on known to this thread as "brothers" to avoid the appearance of sexism) may have... Whether or not you also secretly (or non-secretly) advocate negativity at present, you are invited to spare what little cheer you have to brighten this place up a bit!

    All negative comments MUST be ignored at pain of stoning... Or negative rep, whichever comes first.

    we've only lost twice so far in the league, and that was to the current first and second place teams, who have spent enough on players to buy Sports Direct!!

    I know one old guy who is over the moon tonight
    3 weeks in hospital after going through a tricky operation
    all he wanted to know was how many did we get beat by
    his face lit up when I said that we got a point

    My old man is 77years young and has had everthing but the kitchen sink thrown at him in the last few years
    took me to my first match in 1969 <ok> forever greatful

    We're 3 points off 4th spot. Held currently joint by Spurs and Everton - whom the critics have dubbed as having 'fantastic starts'. Can't be that bad!

    We've got 2 Dembas
    We have the best home kit in the PL
    We've stuck with the same manager for almost 2 years
    We're probably more financially sound than most PL clubs
    We've got a Mackem Slayer
    We're above Sunderland in the league.
    We're the top team in the North East.
