Yeah because it wasn't the first time they did it was it? The FIA accepted the force majure for RBR, they didn't with McLaren, bit of a difference.
If it was force majure, there would have been no penalty. Incidents were identical. It just how you view them that was different.
They said they could prove it that 150ml was still in the car but it would break the rules that the car must remain a sealed unit so they couldn't defend their case and just gave up in the end.
And didn't McLaren show that their car also had more than the required amount? Think they did. Both teams being overly cautious when ultimately they both knew what would happen to them. Why not get to the pits and then argue the toss if the FIA can't get 1l of fuel from the car?
No, Silver, McLaren held their hands up, Red Bull spouted the ridiculous bullshit you cite above. And I don't believe you're really naif enough to believe it either!
End of the day, both cars failed to make it back to the pits with the required amount of fuel for scrutineering, both received the same penalty. The only complaint can be the severity of the punishment in both cases.
I think it was estimated Lewis would not have enough fuel to get around the whole track and give 1litre to the stewards, I think he had something like 1.2 litre in total but needed 0.2-0.3 more to give a proper measure. The FIA said he would not have got around the track with 0.2 he left spare etc...
So he would have had, say 850ml left in the tank!? Just like .....erm.... no ... come on. ......... help me out here ............... Bunch of cheaters the pair of them, eh Silver?
That depends, do you believe McLaren really forgot how to fuel a car or just tried to pull another Canada 2010 again? At least Sebs was possible, his car was falling apart even before qualifying.
It was one of them races where you couldn't predict who was going to leapfrog who, or which driver was on the best strategy, I just followed in realtime like a newbie. Did starting Vettel from the box help him a lot? It seemed to me it really did, he was leapfrogging cars that were seconds ahead of him when he boxed. Amazing performance.
There's one thing which you all seem to forget..... why would RBR under fuel Seb on purpose just to try and get him ahead of Lewis when Alonso is the only real target for the WDC? That could possibly be the most stupid decision Horner has ever made if he was thinking like that, what better way to piss away the WDC by trying to work around the FIA. Qualifying at Spain was really tight just like at Canada 2010, and what do you know McLaren have under fueled Lewis and try to play the sob story that it was by mistake. Yet RBR said they could prove the 150ml was in there.
Yeah, because Red Bull and Horner are a paragon of honesty You do make me laugh Silver, I'll give you that!
