Forget the Taarabt chance, yes he should have scored but didn't so its irrelevant. Today i thought the first half reminded me of a typical Sunday league park game where one team tried to play football with no real success apart from a goal and the other (us) hoofed the ball away, up front to be constantly won by a giant centre back. The second half we played ok at best. There are no excuses now. All those who say give him more time are actually unrealistic in my view as more time just seems to be more points lost. Hughes as i said right from the start is a manager and not a coach. He has and is proving that he can't manage the players he bought and selected. I ask one question to all those 'stay positive, happy clapper' posters, Are you seriously happy with where our club is under Mark 'no personality' Hughes????
'The second half we played ok at best' Thought we were better than that, we had more possession, more efforts and Sky gave their keeper Man of the Match.
Only says what I see's, I dont think we were great but we were a couple of good saves and a whisker away from getting the points today. We are clearly low on confidence so we're not going to blow anyone away (Reading or otherwise) at the moment. Not saying I'm happy with the performance, first half was cack.
I have stayed firmly on MH's side while he worked through a number of issues but today was the last straw for me. 1. Absolutely clueless tactically with all of our attacking players consistently running away from the ball when the midfield needed help to bring it forward. There was a chasm between our midfield and attack that even the lumbering Leigertwood could look good in. 2. The pain brought on by MHs refusal to bolster our defensive options in the summer grows with every game. The only miracle was that Reading scored only 1 from about a dozen free headers from set pieces. He can't fix this until January - no one can - but it is his cock up which is costing us dear. 3. Today's line up represents our best starting 11 IMO (barring M'Bia). If he can't make it work there is no hope for him or us.
Nice one aaaRrgghh So many things are wrong with the club at the moment Mbia was obviously a makeweight to get shot of Barton and plainly doesn't want to be here or has any respect from Hughes Hughes has frozen out traore and adel and now its ale which is crazy Discipline is truly awful Having played park and SWP to death suddenly it's a volte face and mackie is flavour of the month You know it's bad when Sheffield weds fans offer you a shoulder to cry on On another point I lived for many happy years in st Albans and went to college their too. Lovely place cracking boozers and not far from me mums
Good post mate. Don't agree with 3 though. Faurlin should be in our best 11 in a different formation imo.
Well, I'm happy to take the job on......I'd install key pads for all fans to vote for the substitutions on match day (absolutely no blame to be attached to the manager for substitution policy...), having first established the starting 11 and bench through posting on here How hard can it be with so many experts on the game on this site??
I knew there would be comments about Faurlin. All I would ask is that people state who should now give way to give him a spot. Mackie possibly, but that reduces our already weak attacking options. I love the bloke but would always go with Granero and Diakite first.
Your sarcasm actually rings true, there are so many more on here who could do the job, you would be surprised. Hughes has coaches to coach and he picks the team and instructs them accordingly. Its not rocket science and i see this first hand at work everyday.
