Just a few ideas for discussion -

Guardiola has said this weekend that his next job will be done and dusted in January, with all the groundwork being done ahead of him taking over in the summer of 2013.

Where is he most likely to end up. Surely that seems far too soon to imagine that SAF will step aside and he will come to us.

Looking at the options, the most vulnerable manager at present seems to be Di Matteo. Despite hovering near the top of the table, he just seems to have that look of resignation all the time, like he has been told already that this is his one season and to make the most of it.

But personally for a number of reasons I can't see Guardiola going to Chelsea - they are just not a good fit, he keeps talking about the need for a 'project', and while Chelsea certainly are that, I don't see Abramovich as the type of guy who will sit out and wait on someone's 'vision'. Having said that, they are due some wholesale changes which means PG could bring in his own targets to begin to develop his team.

Might he go to City - possibly, they do seem to have moved in some of the key staff from Barca on the sly, and Mancini doesn't seem to pleased about it being foisted on him. The recent rumour that he tried to jump ship, or at least secure an alternative job, does seem strange unless he knows something we don't. Money talks, so my bet is City.

As for us, I can see us getting Jose Mourinho. he wants back into the PL, he wants United and he will also relish the opportunity of proving himself against Guardiola in another league.

Don't even begin to ask me why, but i can see Blanc taking over at the Gooners.

Chelski - still not sure but I wouldn't bet against Mancini

    Discuss........................

Unless it is Fergie can you imagine the pressure on a RDM, Mancini or a few others if Pep has his next job sorted 6 months ahead of time. I mean will they just stop caring and let everything go tits up?

What a horrible lack of respect it would show.

He'll be our manager start of next season.

Said it on another thread, sticking by it.

Pep Gaurdiola won't go to a club that is £1 Billion in debt whose ''face'' is a fat bald granny shagger.

As for us i don't even want Pep tbh, i'd rather have RDM. Reckon Pep will go to City with Dortmund coach going to Arsenal or as you said Blanc

Everyone humps Guardiola ass. Lets see how well he does without the quality of players that Barca possess.

    Been saying this for ages.

My point is being proven every week as Barcelona with their new manager who has zero experience is making it look a breeze.

I can see Rodgers being sacked. It is dawning on the scousers thick as they are that this guy has been promoted beyond his competence level. Would the owners be able to persuade Guardiola to go to 'fortress' Anfield even though they are wallowing in mediocrity and their only decent player is also a cheat and a scumbag ?

I don't think Rodgers will be sacked. I imagine the board have written off this season and unless they're going to back him with funds and give him a chance to make changes they can't really turn round and expect any different this year.

Don't get me wrong, I think BR is out of his depth and Liverpool would have been better of with Martinez, as he did far more for Swansea, but understandably he turned them down.

I imagine there could be a few managers gone at the end of this season. RDM is an amateur, Mancini could get the chop if he fails in the eyes of his Arab overlords and Wenger/Arsenal may tire of each others company.

I think pep will be our next manager. I'd rather him than mourinho.

If Mancini goes then mourinho to city.

Rogers won't get sacked. Much as I hate the dippers he has got them playing better football. They just lack a few proper quality players or striker, mid and a defender.

Wenger will probably go don't care who replaces him they're no threat anymore. Not that I think Liverpool are a threat only mentioned them because someone else mentioned them..

As to Chelsea if rdm goes and Mancini does maybe Mancini to replace him. Though I just can't see it.

As to moyes, I'd say he is without doubt the best manager in the league I wouldn't be disappointed if we did get him. My only reservation is that the expectation level on him will be immeasurable compared to what he is used too. I doubt whether he could handle being our manager. I think what ever happens we could probably write off two seasons.. If it pep he will need to get a handle on the premiership and our squad of players.. If we get moyes he will just need to find his feet having that much pressure on him.

Whatever happens I would like to see us appoint someone and stick by them whether we finish outside the top four for a season maybe two.

Only manager we could get that I think there would be a smooth transition would be mourinho as he is so full of himself he'd come in and instantly keep us at the same level.. Perhaps playing worse football.

Only other PL club i can see getting Mourinho bar us is City, honestly can't see United wanting him, yes he's a great manager but there are many other managers just as good with a lot of less baggage and controversy, thing with United is the club will always be bigger and you have a respectable image to keep up etc, Mourinho would just do a lot of damage imo he has controversy everywhere he goes, spends loads of money, wants full power and everything his own way and i just don't think your board etc will see eye to eye with him.

Moyes would need to step up but i think given a few years and some resources he'd work wonders, he's also scottish and has already proved he is loyal ;) ( 10 years+ with everton ), he brings through some good players and turns them into quality players, good eye for talent, good tactics, always gets everton top half with a shoe-string budget, always has to sell one or two of his best players a season yet always challenges and is the most unluckiest manager ever not to win a trophy, deserves one big time.

Agreed.. I think he has just too big an ego..

That said I don't think he'd go back to you lot. If its anyone it will be city. Where it would make me sick if he took ronaldo with him there..

What do you lot actually think of RDM?? It's weird he won you the CL and is under pressure having done what no other manager could do and he didn't really splash the cash either..

Don't know tbh, love RDM for everything he has done as a player and manager but i'm still not sure, think i'll reserve my judgement untill the end of the season, too early to judge. We're doing well so far considering we are in a transition and we have a youngish team and effectively no decent striker, think we need to get a quality striker like Falcao to seriously challenge at the moment. You have RVP, Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck aka 4 decent strikers, City also have 4 quality strikers, and we have 2 crap strikers like Arsenal. Hence why i can't see us finishing above 3rd this season

I'd give Sturridge more of a chance as striker.

I know what you mean with RDM. I think the job came too soon. Same as that twat at spurs.. Coming to you was too big a job too soon. That said I didn't get sacking ancelotti. I think RDM has inherited a decent team and is keeping you there or there abouts. I think city look shaky this season.. Their best defender kompany has been **** all season.. They just don't seem a happy side.

Sturridge is worse than Torres, he's ok as a striker in a 4-4-2 but he is nowhere near good enough to lead the line for us, at least Torres can actually link up well with the three wizards behind him, sturridge just can't pass, can't hold the ball up, shoots whenever he gets the ball and even then not that good, and his off the ball work is just generally crap and he is selfish and arrogant.

Our problem is when we play Sturridge we have a crap striker who just shoots all the time from any range and anywhere and the problem with Torres is he is too scared to shoot at all and when we play him we effectively play with 4 #10s but no striker because Torres seems to prefer playing as a #10 now. If they were both combined then we might have a good player but on their own they are both crap and nowhere near good enough for us. As i said you and city all have 4 good strikers but you both have 4 world class strikers between you we have 0. We need a Cavani/Falcao/Villa/Neymar etc to complete us. Untill then we won't be challenging for anything seriously apart from the league cup and fa cup

I don't think RDM is cut out to be managing in the PL at this stage of his career yet alone a top four club and his inexperience will tell come the new year.

Didn't Chelsea go for Pep first?

I think Roman wants a top manager and none were really available. RDM having won the CL and being a great player for them is a safe choice to keep the fans happy until a replacement is lined up.

**Edit: Someone I think is going to get the sack sooner than later, Sparky.
