It shouldn't annoy me but it does. The end of program analysis included 'Cardfiff stay top despite defeat'. 'Middlesbrough continue their impressive run of form to move to second'. 'Crystal Palace got off to a great start with Holloway to move third'. 'Leicester drop to fourth after successive defeats'. 'And Blackburn are down to sixth after losing' We're not expecting a massive monologue but why can't they have just said 'Hull move up to fifth after beating Barnsley'. Does my ****ing head in!!
boohoo. the southern press don't seem to like anything north of the Wash and this surprises you?? ****!
Aren't the southern press based in Manchester now? Or are they still at Television House in London? I wonder if it will make a difference if/when they do move up North. SOmehow I doubt it, and I still don't believe we're under the radar where it counts, i.e. other teams.
By off the radar, do you mean, "nobody notices us climbing the league or what we are doing"? It's such a daft thing to say, because in terms of the other 23 managers in the league (not to mention their scouts, assistants, friends at other clubs etc.) they all know about the 3-5-2, which players we've got and how SB likes to play. In bringing in one of the most famous managers in the division, we've been on the radar from day one. We were never off it. Which imo, is a good thing. It's nice to hear people talking about City and giving us praise; rightly so given our league position. People want to be sitting up and taking notice of us so that when we come to town they think "Oh ****, that's going to be a hard game".
It was the same on Goals on Sunday today with Chris Kamara - mentioned top four then skipped us to mention Huddersfield going well in 7th ffs.. I think I'm getting paranoid about this issue..
The Mail on Sunday, sums up what the media think about us. Barnsley lost, nothing really about us except the goal. The fact is that we are not even the prime game on Blunderside half of the time.
Under the radar may be the best thing but doesnt everyone want respect? It also may be easier to get players to come play for us if we are not flying under the radar.
its alright as by January they can label the club with the standard "unfancied" or " unfashionable" prefix - but thats only in the heads of the media
Yeah I reckon all our targets may base their decision on whether to sign for us or not, on how much we are spoken about on the FLS
Isn't that because the policy is to put the team playing at home on one frequency, and the team playing away on the other, regardless of which way round it is?
I bet it does. Players will sign for teams like Forest and Leeds because they're supposedly 'big' clubs - which is nothing more than a media myth. If everyone started going on about us and ****ing themselves silly like they do about other teams it'd definitely have an effect on neutrals including prospective signings.
I posted a few weeks ago about SSN.com not mentioning us, I asked the question do we actually exist? I'm sure we do but this adds to the question, maybe a big conspiracy theory?
