Cork 1.40 Our Vinnie 4/1 3.20 Baily Green 9/4 Leopardstown 1.25 Cottrell 9/2 2.00 Ballyorban 7/2 3.05 Cest Notre Gris 20/1 Been looking forward to this Eyrefield Stakes since I seen the enties midweek, 3 horses I really like in Cest Notre Gris, Sugar Boy and Orgilgo Bay in one of the most interesting 2yo races of the season, for me anyway. I think Sugar Boy will try to go from the front with Orgilgo Bay tracking him and maybe Imperial Concorde up there in front of Cest Notre Gris, Coolibah and Beyond Thankful will likely be held up and id guess Heffernan will be looking to play Twilight Zone late aswell. They think Sugar Boy might be a cup horse so he should stay alright and I wouldn't worry about the break because after his last run they were always either putting him away for the season or going for this. Orgilgo Bay has the best form in the race, he is rock solid and this is arguably the easiest chance hes had to win a race, he was giving Cest Notre Gris the best part of a stone when beaten at Listowel. Of the others id probably be most worried about Twilight Zone given he is unexposed, looked impressive last time and Obrien's record in the race, I wouldnt be surprised if he went off a strong favourite but this is a big step up from a weakish maiden. Cest Notre Gris has a fair bit to find on the book and will probably be overlooked by most given the weight turn around with Orgilgo Bay but he was well on top at the finish that day and looked much more ready for another furlong than Orgilgo. Hes not going to be coming there on the bridle but hes just a horse ive taken to this season and I like his attitude, it will be hard to make all in this and I think Sugar Boy, Orgilgo Bay and Welds in the first time blinkers might set it up for the closers and make it a real test. He has thrown in a couple of bad runs this season but you can forgive the run last time when the combination of good ground and being out a bit soon after a hard race probably caused him to run a bit below his best, hes a had a longer break this time and the return to soft ground and the step up in trip should suit. Id expect him to be one of the first off the bridle but provided hes still in the race at the 2 pole and it turns into a real testing battle, he is the one I would want to be on and I think hes overpriced at 20/1 considering he has already finished in front of Sugar Boy and Orgilgo Bay this season. Its a hard race to call and I wouldnt be surprised by any of them winning but should be a good race to watch, hopefully get a run for the money at a nice price.
A horse I put up as one to follow runs today, Well Regarded, but he isn't a bet today because the yard are still struggling to get winners and the ground is likely to be dodgy at best. One to watch today though.
SEE WHAT HAPPENS (Very appropriate for this forum seen as you know who is back) 1.30 at Carlisle wins im told stay frosty
3 faw me today RULE THE WORLD - 1.40 Cork BAILY GREEN - 3.20 Cork Both very smart noviices FOR A FINISH - 2.15 Cork grand national 5lb lower than wen 5th ain this last year
I really hope you are right about it not being suited today Nass as i have pondered over this race as it was one i could immediately get down to 3 runners. I discarded Attaglance as he did not seem to take to fences as well as hurdles last time out which left only Hildisvini and well regarded who were 1st and 2nd last time out. I have now gone for an exact repeat with a good win bet on Hildisvini and a straight forcast with well regarded.
The 3.20 at cork looks a very interesting race. Baily green has been in incredible form and won his last race very impressively. Sea of thunder looks a very nice prospect and ran well in defeat behind sire collonges at Cheltenham a couple of weeks back. Very tough to split them but I think the penalty that baily green has to carry just tips it in favour of sea of thunder. Should be a very informative race though and one I'm really looking forward to!
Morning all really like A STAR IS BORN as well WLYT full sister to Rip Van Winkle been waiting for this one to run for ages RULE THE WORLD looks a smashing prospect and I like his chances in the 1.40 (Cork) finally UNACCOMPANIED should win the 3.35 at Leopardstown. 2/1 11/8 and 11/10 not the best prices so doubles and a treble on the 3 best of luck all
Big day for Mouse Morris at Cork and I've got win singles and a win double on Rule The World (1.40) and Baily Green (3.20). I was mightily impressed by Rule The World on debut at Punchestown, slamming a big field on the bridle, and he looks destined for big things this season. Baily Green goes from strength to strength and is by far the most accomplished of these over fences. I can't have Sea Of Thunder on anything softer than good and with today's ground yielding I think he will struggle, even in receipt of 8lbs. Best of luck everyone
One here for you Oddy... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20068083 And not a helmet in sight...!!! I take it you are showing your helmet when you go out on the bike...
Well Regarded for me in the 1:15. Hoping the 7 lb pull will allow it to reverse placings with Hilsdivini.
