    If you got the chance to lead Newcastle Uniteds attack on a weekly basis, getting paid thousands to do so would you half heartdly amble around the field for 90 minutes or would you run yourself into the ground, chasing every ball and fighting every lost cause for the love of it? Shola is the most privileged player in the game coz hes s***e and has been for years and no matter how bad he was the week before he starts the following week. He has his fans..... Im not one of them

    I agree with everything you say but the other striking options at the momenet aren't exactly appealing either.

    2 decent strikers must be acquired before the start of next season

    At the moment we havent got many alternatives (although ranger,kuqi and airey cant do any worse) but weve had this clown on our books for over 10 years!

    Come on! Just because he doesn't chase down balls constantly doesn't mean he's lazy.

    I'm sick of people slagging Ameobi off. He's an easy target. His goals to minutes on the pitch ratio is good. He's not great, but he's far from ****e.

    Obviously he's not the man for going forward but as back-up he's quality.

    HOW DARE YOU SLAG OFF SHOLA. SHAME RAIN DOWN LIKE A THOUSAND HEAD MASKS ON ALL OF YOU.

    He's got it totally sussed, play a blinder once every 6~ games and we all lay off him and let him be a lazy **** the rest of the time which is obviously what he prefers.

    You'd think someone with such limited talent would atleast try to do well for his team...

    He never chases at all. He jogs at most, often just walks briskly and puts nobody under pressure at all. Instead of running and showing commitment and desire to win a free ball to take on the keeper he just jogs in large strides, sometimes falling over. Whenever he has the ball outside the box he shoots, and the ball travels about as fast as my great grandma with all the power of a handicapped field mouse.
    The fact is, he is lazy and rarely looks interested. I really want to love Shola because he's a local lad, seems like a nice guy and has been with Newcastle for so long but he is so far beyond inconsistent that its very easy to forget about those few games where he plays amazing.

    But that's his game. If he chased all the time he'd be knack'd out. Players adapt to the style of play that suits them best. Just because he isn't running doesn't mean he lacks commitment or doesn't look interested.

    Though i agree with the shooting comment - his goal against Forest last season was a major surprise to me - i'm not saying he's terrific. Just that he does try and that as back-up he's good to have.

    He's the worst player at the Toon IMO. Simply because our **** players now atleast had there time to shine. Shola has always been useless, our worst player for the last ten years.

    when Kuqi came on for the last five minutes for The blackpool game, I'm sure he did more running than Shola for when he was on the pitch.
    Have Ranger or Kuqi on with Lovenkrands for the next matches please

    The newcastle vs sunderland game is effectively known to me as 'The donkey derby' coz its the only time the ****ing donkey that is foluwashola ameobi resembles a premiership footballer
