Sorry its a bit late, only just managed to get on. Mine: Evans (his first vote of the season from anyone) Aluko Rosenior
Quinn Evans Bruce McShane just misses out on 3rd due to a little mid understanding in the first half.
Hmm... there may be a reason for that. He was my first choice for subbing around 70 mins, but he actually started playing a bit after that. Not in my top 5. Quinn (by a mile over both halves) Elmohamady (not convinced, but can't think of anyone better) Koren (In and out but still trying in the 2nd half, unlike Aluko)
1. Quinn 2. Koren 3. Evans (Just because he saved us 3 points twice) I don't know how Elmohamedy won MOTM today, didn't think he did anything at all.. apart from put the cross in that led to the goal.
Evans was fantastic in the 2nd half, but absolutely appalling in the first. Therefore I give my MOTM award to Sir Stephen of Quinn
Evans- that tackle, when McShane's pass cut Dawson short and they were through on goal, was fantastic.
Who here actually votes for the official MOTM though? It only ever seems to be based on whoever scored or assisted regardless of anything else by any other player. I'm not voting as I wasn't there today - I had a choice of the match or Didsbury real ale festival in Manchester. I must be an appalling fan for picking the latter,
Quinn Evans Aluko Firstly i don't rate Bruce in the slightest, but he was unlucky not to be included today, he did play well, despite my dislike of him i am honest enough to admit that. Quinn was in a class of his own, his movement was brilliant. Evans made a couple of really important blocks and tackles at key moments that won us the three points. I heard someone criticising and screaming at Aluko, however i think we forget he has now got us six points in the last two games basically, really is a game changer.
Quinn. I cant remember who said lat season we should sign him but the man is/was a fukin genius. The ball in the first half with the outside of his left foot down the line to Rosy was a work of art. Rosenior. Played well few nice tricks and flicks at LWB and solid second half at RB. Bruce. Didnt put a foot wrong, shame he went off. Daws was awful when he came on. Thought they were all poor. Yes Evans' tackle was crucial apart from that he is ****e. Seriously we need to address this urgently. Koren, Aluko, Simmo were all guilty of over elaborating as they think they are too good for the opposition. We need a CM who will grab them and the game by the scruff of the neck.
I'd agree that we need a better central midfielder, i also think we need another LB/LWB and another striker. If we get all three, we might well be in the running come the end of the season. I feel sorry for Dawson, he looks a shadow of his former self, he's been dreadful in his last two games(though I do think that today probably made sure we get a new left back).
I dunno if others saw it but as soon as Brucey brought Daws on they rushed to get their number 20 on. Flying winger with a left foot. Daws got done really badly. Hate even writing it,he's a top bloke.
Me to about Daws - hate to say it about a top top player for us but not at the races anymore at this level. Ground out a result for change when we weren't at our best. Top comments post match by Keith Hill about the quality of our side and the midfield three of Evans Quinn and Koren in particular.
Yep, he praised us highly. Always appreciated, as most managers go out of their way to trash other teams, even when defeated and it isn't necessary. He's got a job on there though, no teeth in the team whatsoever.
Not seen the goal yet on telly. Was it offside?? I thought one of ours headed it and it went straight to Aluko. Aluko was definitely offside when he got the ball??
