Anyone else worried that Simpson hasn't found the net since Sept 29th? He only has 4 goals in 14 league games on a pace to have a total of 12 league goals.

No, not worried. Goals go in or not at random. You cannot extrapolate 12 goals at the end of the season on his current rate. He may not score again all season, or he may get 4 on Tuesday against Wolves. Personally I reckon 15+ by the end of the season, with the same for Aluko and 12 for Proschwitz - but Faye may get another half dozen!

He's not a great finisher and I don't think he played too well today. Decent work rate and first touch though, the best we have whilst Matty's out to partner Aluko.

Jay played well again today for me. He still looks a different player this season to previous ones, confident, fit and strong,he'll score enough.

I don't think the net will be worried..Still thought he had a decent game today..A game spoiled by an inept ref and his "assistant"...Why does he book Simmo when he goes for a 50/50 with the keeper. If you apply the same logic the keeper should have been booked for clattering into Simmo...The ref was fat and totally f**king hopeless.

    The ref was ****.

I thought Simpson worked hard today and he's definitely better than Mclean, but he's no Fryatt.

Simpson has a good touch , gets into good positions but he really needs to score more goals

    Still better than McLean obviously

The booking didn't help him, but none of the strikers were bang on form today.

Last year, apart from Matty Fryatt, our three top-scorers were Koren (10), McLean (5) and Brady (3). We've got 21 goals from our first 14 games, and it took us 19 - basically an extra month - to reach that last season

I think thats my worry about Simmo - don't see him continuing his goal scoring form TBH (hope I'm wrong) and Matty Fryatt is a big loss who will need to be replaced if we are to continue to fly high over a long long season..

He needs a goal as I think he's getting a bit tense.

The shot he had in the 2nd half today was woeful, and I think a nervous thrash.

    A confidence player for me.

But he does link up the play well, I feel.

His link up play, particularly with Sone Aluko, is very good and I think that is his saviour..

That bits spot on IMO. Simmo Doesn't seem to have the natural goalscoring touch that Fryatt has, But while Fryatts out and Proschwitz is still finding his feet Jays the best we've got to partner Aluko. And to be fair to him, He's having a decent season.

First half the ref was the best I've seen at the KC for a long time. With Simpson's booking the ref was just giving the freekick, next thing that ****ing useless linesman made the only actual decision he made all game and opted to get on the radio to the ref to tell him he needed to book Simpson. Not quite sure what happened in the second half mind, he even at one point went over and gave Etuhu (the big black ****er up front) a bollocking for a foul on Koren about 2 yards in front of him, the culprit had actually been the white right back who made Whitmore look obese.

The linesman on the other hand got all his offsides right but consistently left the ref who was 40 yards away to make decisions about fouls that were right in front of him and was generally **** all game. Credit to him for his sense of humour though. One guy had a right rant at him and ended it by telling him to stop spitting. The lino then spent the next few minutes intentionally spitting every time he was right in front of the guy just to piss him off.

The booking he got yesterday was a shocker, and as Ricardo quite rightfully says, a howler from the linesman.

Simmo stole in there first and got a nifty little touch of the ball, then the keeper clattered into him due to misjudging his flail for the ball like he did.

I was exasperated with he gave him a yellow. Most miffed.
