United fans going in about glory hunting, now I've seen it all. You are a prime example of why people hate United fans.

I think they're beneath hatred. I don't think anybody takes them seriously or even considers them football fans. I and most people I know certainly don't.

When I was at school, most kids picked United to support because they were bullied about not supporting a football team. So they just picked the team they'd heard of.

    Same.

United fans also tend to be 1st generation football fans i.e Dad's that didn't take them to football or don't have an interest in it so they didn't have the "guidance" some others do. There are few grown men I know that support proper clubs that would allow their son/daughter to support United.

Aside from a lot of Utd fans being ****s, the ref today showed clear bias again towards Utd.
Whilst I don't think it really affected the result, Dean spared Cleverly from a red and then showed Wilshere a red.

    Bias again

Some United fans have stated Wilshire had a warning before eventually going - in a sense Cleaverley had one more bad tackle remaining before he should go. I didn't watch the game to be honest.

Cleverley also had a last warning and then survived another booking.
Wilshere was shown a second yellow for a standard tackle.

    Bias again

Fair one. Yup bias again indeed.

Not that any United fans would ever agree!

Got to disagree. Wilshere was warned by Dean after his second clumsy challenge

Cleverley and Wilshere both committed fouls that would have brought a yellow had they not already been booked earlier and were then effectively warned 'one more and you are off'. The difference was that Ferguson immediately brought on Anderson for Cleverley to ensure he didn't get sent off, whereas Wenger kept Wilshere on because he was looking like Arsenal's best player, he mistimed another tackle and off he went. Dean kind of dug a hole for himself by brandishing too many cards early in the game. There ended up being 8 yellow cards in a match (5 of which were to United I hasten to add!) yet the match lacked any of the kind of needle of years gone by and the match was largely anaemic.

The 'warning' that Wilshere got was after he pulled out of a tackle on Judas. Cleverley then made a reckless challenge on Wilshere just outside of the box, it would have been a yellow any day of the week, but Dean decided to give him another warning. Wilshere then tackled Evra, it was a bit clumsy, but it wasn't a booking, but bias Dean decided to show him a red.

Dean didn't handle the bookings well at all, he tried to stamp down on the game by dishing out yellows, but he then became inconsistent with it.

When Cleverley and Wilshere were both on Yellows, he was aching to send one of them off to make a point. He wasn't using proper judgement about the tackles, he was trying stamp his authority on the game - and he got it wrong.

    This <ok>

He was then inconsistent in his decision making because he'd put himself under pressure too early. If Wilshere had made that tackle on Evra in any other game, it would have simply been a free kick. However, even if Dean had deemed that tackle to be a yellow, then he should have shown RVP a straight red for him scything down Sagna.

It was a case of bias towards Utd again I'm afraid.

I don't think there was a bias as I think Dean was actually shown to bottle 2nd yellows towards both Cleverley and Wilshere beforehand. It was more that he booked too many players early on maybe because he was expecting a match that was going to boil over if he didn't keep a lid on it. Wilshere ultimately mistimed 1 too many challenges, which is hardly surprising when this was only his second competitive match in a year and a half. The dependency that Arsenal have on a player whose rehabilitation is going to take time is quite frightening really.

I'm not sure that Dean was out to hand Utd more favourable decisions, but the resulting mistakes that he made did mean that there was a bias in his decision making.

No the referee gave Wilshere a final warning after the tackle on Van Perise and Cleverly a final warning after the tackle on Wilshere. It was only Wilshere who went on to make a bad tackles after the warning and he deserved to be sent off.

I thought the referee had a good game today.

You're all very young then. When I was at school the glory hunters supported Everton and Liverpool.

What's the point? if it differs from what you want to believe you won't believe it.

I notice you didn't answer my question about your connection with Arsenal and the suspicious timing of your support either ;)

Looking at all the doom and gloom on here now, I stand by my accusation that ZaGooner is a knee jerk plastic.
