I see what you are saying but it sort of contradicts itself , Abramovich brought him in to freshen the club up but at the same time listened to the senior players ? I believe he did listen to senior players but only after the dressing room was lost , Lampard this season is not playing and there is no furore is there ?
That's exactly what I am saying. AVB was shafted by Abramovich in my opinion. I think the dressing room was lost due to the big name players, it spread.
Oh so the dressing room was lost for poor results or for not putting in the old guard ? He lost games with his new formation and players , the old guard were dropped , Ambramovich steps in Di Matteo recalls them and they win the European Cup , astute possibly ? Maybe lucky but he did not stand on time .
The difference between RDM and AVB is two things. RDM won the CL so his judgement isn't coming under question as he's won the one thing they wanted so badly. Another reason is the fact that RDM seems to communicate why players are being dropped or rotated. AVB didn't seem to communicate and players like Lampard didn't know what was going on creating unrest in the dressing room. This is why AVB lost the dressing room. He wouldn't have if he'd communicated better and respected the senior players like Terry, Lampard and Drogba who were fan favourites.
The difference between AVB and Di Matteo at Chelsea was the way they handled bringing through new players and not playing the older ones so much. AVB by all accounts just dropped them and Di Matteo explained what was happening. An arm round Lampards shoulder and being told that he is still an integral part of the side and they are just prolonging his career is going to go down a lot better than just dropping him. AVB had to show the Spurs board he had learned from this before getting the job and I think the jury is still out on him there as a number of players have been dropped, put up for sale or sold that were big parts of the team last season. With regards to Adkins, he is at adisadvantage to some as he has taken a Championship team up where as the rest have all inherited an established Premier league squad (Sturrock being the best example). I think Adkins deserves to stay on for longer or otherwise he really is a victim of his own success a la Billy Davies when he took Derby up. However it is really important to stay up this season with the TV money coming in and I think that is what Cortese will be looking at. But when? Should Nigel be given the next month or two of favourable fixtures and not get points on the board are we going to be too far a drift for anyone to come in and make a difference? If that is the case then we may as well stick with Nigel and hope to come back stronger next year. The other way is for him to go in the next game or so, but then thats not really fair as he would only have played 6 or so games where we would have expected to pick up points. Over to you Nicola.........
Adkin's Saints play the best football out of all those managers. Best since Chris Nicholl was here and he was sacked for not finishing in the top half. lol From the rest Hoddle's were the least scrappy I suppose but very negative in tactics. WGS and Jones' teams had a gritty dogged determined style to them. STURrock's were a simple HOOF. So Adkins' style makes me feel warm like the Lawrie and Nicholl sides did Just need Jimmy Case to come out of retirement and tears of joy will be visible on my cheeks
Were you on the assembly line putting the locks together, or just loading the boxes, during your time at Yale?
Has Adkins lost the dressing room? If he has then it's a different story. I've read nothing to suggest he has.
Nobody has the time mate as it would take years before you even began to understand. Sorry chum but you are well and truly a lost cause.
