If this has been discussed before my apologies but we got Quinn for only £2,000 a game?

    Here is the article.
    http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...-quinn-proving-bargain-buy-for-hull-1-5090956

"WITH the fee Hull City have paid Sheffield United for Stephen Quinn standing at just £20,000 right now, Steve Bruce unsurprisingly regards the midfielder as “a real bargain”."

"Hull must pay the Blades £2,000 per game up to a maximum of £100,000."

Interesting to see a club manager criticising an international manager for not having called up one of his players yet. I wonder if the fact Bruce only got into the B squad is something that he feels was unfair and it makes him more happy than other managers to see his players being dragged around Europe.

I posted the other day that we got him for no fee rather than the quoted £300k by media outlets and I was mocked. "How do you know these things and the media dont?" and hence it must be bollocks....

    I believed you...

A pity we can't pull off a few more deals like that, it's one he'll of a bargain.

Do you know the actual figure for Prossy?

So have we taken over Quinny's contract then? How much is he going to be on a week? 15 -20 grand a week?

A mate of mine in Sheffield thought he was on £10-12k a week.

No, it was a straight transfer just no fee. Haven't got a clue what he was and is on. I'd expect him to be a high earner but not in the bracket you said - maybe 8-10k. Total guess like.

It wasn't that and you know it. It was the incredulity that I could actually suggest something different to what was widely reported. Why assume I was wrong and the journos were right?

He certainly is a snip, maybe the Blunts just needed to trim their wage bill.

Never paid much attention to this side of things, but this seems a really sharp deal. Perhaps Allam Jnr is coming to terms with his new career direction? A good thread, interesting to see we are getting quality at sensible wages! If Prossy is nearer the figure mentioned then I think he will more than justify the cash - let's give him a bit more time as it is a hard team to break into - thankfully!

Could just be employing a business practice from elsewhere. I've not nailed it yet, but I'm sure there's some accounting benefits to paying it like this compared to having a £100k fee paid over 2 years, and maybe some tax ones. When I work it out for myself, if there's anything useful that isn't too much of a faff to try to explain I'll put it on.

Sheff U might get to delay some tax, we look like we might have owners that are already looking to find ways to "cheat" the FFP rules by arranging deals a particular way.

If you read what I said, I said I don't believe you to be a billy bullshit and don't think you'd make it up, but due to the fact the only other thing you'd claimed was about Proschwitz barely costing a penny, I was sceptical (sp?) whether it was correct or not, as at the time it seemed neither claim could ever be proved or disproved as no official would ever come out and announce terms of the deal.

Now I call YP's bullshit, they clearly just read it on here and made up a few quotes.

You also said "You on the other hand have just reported two wild ludicrous claims, which I'm sure are highly illegal if your right." And lets be clear, I NEVER said anything about "Proschwitz barely costing a penny", I always stated I am of the understanding that is nearer a million rather than the £2.6m quoted.

But the thought also crossed my mind that the YP read my claims and then asked Bruce about it at the weekly pre-match presser
