I've heard a rumour from within the club that TF has had talks with Vialli and Wilkins during the week. The two are still great friends and are often out playing golf together and are supposedly very keen on taking over at HQ should a position become available. I personally hope this isn't so. I'd rather stick than have these two. Especially Wilkins again. My word. The person I have heard this from knows people within the club and have stated that .... 1. This meeting has taken place. 2. There is no-way TF would have missed last weeks Indian GP if something wasn't seriously ado. 3. A lot of the players don't like Hughes and think he is too cold. Although they know where they stand with him, he is over efficient. He has them blood tested every week ( No other Prem manager does this. ) I don't know what this means, but the players aren't happy with it. 4. The players feel that they are just about at their peak fitness levels due to Sparky's strict and efficient training regime. Read into this what you like. I'm just passing on what I've heard. Personally I think it's rubbish. But hey...don't shoot the messenger. That's how the conversation went. I think it contradicts itself. I didn't really want to post this but as it comes from someone well regarded within the club I thought that I would put it up on here for it to be dispelled by greater minds than mine. Cheers.
i think hughes should be tested every day he has to be on something to be so ****ing miserable all the time he appears to be on a permanent downer man
Kiwi that is unfair do you not remember the signing of ned Zelic who was as versatile as an egg but couldn't settle in shep bush the most Aussie friendly venue that existed at the time. Red back anyone?
i thought his problem was his dodgy knees so he was unable to play on hard ground which is fine unless most of the season is played during winter captain cooks and the gin palace..now you are taking me back i will raise your red back with goldhawk rds finest establishment(for the short time it was open)PHASE 2
Morning Nines. Good post. I cannot speculate over the other points as I have no information to support of discredit these however this point caught my eye. I heard something similar from one of the players towards the end of last season. Apparently Hughes is very calm. The player in question said that he's not your archetypal football manager in that he doesn't shout and scream when you've had a bad game. In fact, the player went as far as to say it was quite odd and strangely unnerving. He knew he and a few others had played badly but Hughes didn't bollock them. Not really sure if this tells us much. Like almost every other QPR fan on here the thought of Vialli and Wilkins does nothing to inspire me at all!
Vialli. Watford. Enough said. (PS. The 'Red Back' is closed in case you did not know. Too many drugs and fights)
Probably from the same ITK source as tipped off AlanGreen! I am beginning to think that there is a lot of intentional dis-information being "leaked" from the club.
Not sure any of us can be sure whether there is any truth in this or not. I certainly get the impression when I'm at games that there isn't as much team spirit on show as I would like. I also could easily see why some players wouldn't like Hughes's style much. Having said that, players do seem to follow him around from club to club, so I'm not sure they would do that if he was that bad with players. I certainly think that it is highly likely that some of the other share holders must be putting pressure on Fernandes due to our dreadful start to the season and Eamon's point about disinformation could be part of this. On the other hand, every one at the club could be happy and content (?).
To turn to Vialli and Wilkins, neither of whom has managed at top tier level in any country for more than a decade would indicate a level of panic inside the club that would force me revise all previous opinions about TF, Amit etc. that's why I don't believe it. Can easily believe that some players don't like Hughes, it's the same at any club. Tough titty, get on with it like professionals rather than whining like spoilt brats ( I realize that's a lot to ask nowadays). Appreciate the balanced way you shared the info Nines.
