Notes from the live chat with Rivola: The updates worked The gap between Ferrari and Red Bull/McLaren that we saw today was "not the real one" and for qualifying he thinks the gap will be "no more than three tenths". He was more impressed by the McLaren today than the Red Bull, although Red Bull were better in the final sector The story about tension between Alonso and Fry/Ferrari is "bullshit" A one-stop strategy is possible, but he's not sure if it would be quicker I'm much happier after watching that.
Forza what do you reckon of these illegal brakes? Is that from your end? or do you reckon it's somebody else? or just RBR just chucking it out there hoping for a result?
It could be either, but given their urgency to get rid, my hunch would be Ferrari.. but on saying that, they'd have equal urgency to stop McLaren if they thought they might sap points. It's one of the two... or both.
But is it one of those rules RBR knew were illegal and didn't bother since they knew 100% it would get banned and allowed somebody like Ferrari or McLaren waste man power and resources to think it up and then just conveniently complain last minute?
By the looks of it... It's quite a gray area as you could technically argue that ducting is not essentially part of the brake system.
RBR don't fire blanks, they shoot to kill! They must of been worried by something to complain... that or they did see something they could nail the team for and set them back by 1-2 tenths.
I have no idea what something like that would be worth. I wouldn't anticipate it being in the multiples of 10th's though (at a guess). With the championship as close as it is, they'd want to extinguish any advantage.
If my understanding of it is right... it may help make that crucial pass though... if you can get in range.
Mercedes to increase budget in 2013 by another 50 million! Same as Ferrari the reports go. http://www.bild.de/sport/motorsport...-mercedes-fuer-vettel-jagd-27010922.bild.html
Blimey... You have to hope that chucking another 50mil returns something, otherwise there will be some rather upset folk in the finance dept.
Jesus 2013 is going to be interesting lol! I don't know if it's because of the translator but it sounds Mercedes are desperate to get Seb into the team as well and that's the general thought process in that country that Mercedes really want Seb. Seb will only leave RBR if he feels another team will do better.
Seb+Lewis 2014-15? Please!!! Jesus H Christ that would be a lineup to rival Senna V Prost. Lewis 29-30, Seb 27-28, lol so many people will go down!
German team... it would make sense to want the top German driver in the car. Can't see that pairing working out too great though unless the car was streets ahead of anything else.
I don't really see Vettel going to Mercedes unless they are in great form come 2014-2015, otherwise I would imagine he will either make the move to Ferrari - cause who doesn't want to drive for Ferrari at some point - or he will stay with Red Bull as it looks as if they will be quite strong for a while Also 50 mil? That is quite the increase in budget, if there aren't results sooner rather than later I would imagine there will be some rather annoyed fans
