Horner is probably the most hypocritical person alive. ;)

c'mon, they ALL go running to the teacher, surely your favourite team are the worst for waving the rule book in the air at every given opportunity.

Oh they do... totally! I don't disagree with that one bit. It just makes me chuckle when Horner makes out like it's sour grapes when the boot is on the other foot is all. :)

I should mention that I don't have a favorite team as such... It's usually driver first for me. I have a soft spot for a number of teams. :)

Weren't McLaren doing something clever with the brake ducts?

You know what makes me chuckle?

Lewis Hamilton: "If we get pole then it'll be fantastic, but we shouldn't get our hopes up; Sebastian's got a faster car."

I mean, what does he want? McLaren looks even matched on this circuit, still he talks crap.

Yeah but that was altered in the pits by opening or closing a slight circular gap around the actual brake cover.

Yeah he's talking utter shyte... Because it's not like Red Bull have been in dominant fashion for the last 4 races or anything and it's highly unlikely they'll be on top here. What an absolute pillock.

Indeed, when I heard of the McLaren design early in the season I wondered how long it would take for something like this to happen, always thought RBR would be the ones to try it first, but it looks like they avoided it on purpose to give another team a setback when they introduced it.

I guess we will find out tomorrow, if McLaren, Ferrari, Lotus fall down the order.

I can see it really helping in heavy braking zones after long straights by helping to retain heat. I wonder how much of an advantage it would give overall.

Well the driver would have no need to heat up the tyres which give him perfect performance from the word go in probably most temperatures they face up or down and the driver could just go for it every lap.

To be honest.... forget Ferrari, I reckon it's McLaren, RBR must of saw how consistent the times were with their cars today. The temps were dropping and yet Jenson in particular was banging out those times like nothing was changing. McLaren say they haven't bought any upgrades, but yet it looks like they turned over a 2-3 tenths advantage in 1 week.

I'm not sure this has anything do with tyres... I read this as a way to regulate brake temps by reducing the ducts as the brakes cool or opening them as they gain heat.

Hmm I thought the temp controlling of the brakes was a way to help control how hot the tyres would be overral internally and assist the driver in tyre temperatures with little driver input etc...

This way (now illegal) just did it automatically for them without the need to be adjusted in the pit lane, it just works around the situation automatically.

Still very clever though! and I think i'll read it a few more times so I can fully understand it lol.

I believe it helps to increase cooling through areas that demand a lot more from the brakes, but doesn't allow the temps to drop too low in faster parts of the track where brakes can cool below the optimal operating temps. If I have the wrong end of the stick on that, I'm sure somebody will put me right. :)

I thought much the same, I wonder what race tactics will be on Sunday once Red-Bull have locked out the front row with winfinger on Pole

Whitmarsh: "Use your harpoons and tow cables, go for the legs it might be our only chance of stopping them"

The legs of the drivers, if they make it to the cars we're finished.

Unless you can fire something into the exhaust shaft that will cause a chain reaction, although that would be impossible even with a computer, those things are no more than 2 CM wide.
