It's starting to take shape and it appears that we have secured the services of 2 more highly rated coaches from Wolves who have worked with Mick over many years. A very encouraging article in the EADT. I am really pleased that finally we have a proper manager and some decent coaching staff coming in to sort out this club. Great days lay ahead! http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich..._join_mick_mccarthy_at_ipswich_town_1_1679552
Yes i think this is going to be the start of something good. Its a long time since I have felt this positive. I hope everyone gets behind him and the team at the Burnley game and proves that the Ipswich fans are a great set of supporters - that is until some idiot like Hoppersblue10 waves his bl$$dy stupid signs around again.
Such a good team that they lost their jobs and got Wolves relegated?? Good luck with that. Congrats on your bet coming in. Any thoughts on what the lottery numbers might be tomorrow?
When Brum score their fourth goal tomorrow, you'll all come back down to earth with the perverbial bump ..
I just love reading the absolute bollocks that you spout! They were still employed by Wolves up until today when we made an approach for them but don't let the facts get in the way
I hope this leads to some decent signings. Things are looking a lot brighter at Ipswich now with things falling into place. Onwards and upwards. Are some Norwich fans on here giving us grief because they know we have actually made a good appointment this time? Only time will tell but in twenty years of management Mick has only been in charge of four teams, hardly a failure is he?
On here for only two posts and your already acting like a tit. Look back over the past years worth of posts and you will see that the majority of this board were calling for a change a while back. You've even just said that you weren't feeling positive in the previous era so dont go all smug with the singling Hoppers out for victimisation. 3-5000 fans stayed away from PR, the atmosphere was terrible (not helped by the team) and we were in a god awful position. Now I didnt moan for him to leave but I dont think those that did done so on a whim, it was based on a long spell of mediocrity.
I was going to pull him up on that too TB but I didn't want to look like Hoppers' bodyguard. Carry on like that though lunchtime and you'll quickly alienate yourself.
Put you handbags away ladies. Welcome to the Ipswich Not606 forum Lunchtimeviewer. Please feel free to air your opinions.
Things are definately looking far better at the end of this week then they did at the beginning. I don't think that you can help but be optimistic with this guy at the helm and the back room staff he is putting together.
Maybe only two post on here ( 3 now) but have been posting on TWTD for number of years. I have been as critical as anyone this season after supporting PJ's appointment but this year has been a disaster and i agree he had to go. However it wasn't just Jewell tactics and realy bad substitutions but also in my opinion many of the players simply for what ever reason couldn't be bothered and that was startling obvious again Sheffield W. BUT the main reason I hate seeing banners is that, because I have family in the area, I went to Blackburn a number of times last year. The banners and personal insults and abuse hurled at Steve Kean was absolutely digusting and why anyone should have to put up with it i will never know. I know it wasn't as bad a Ipswich but banners/signs calling for people to get sacked dont have a place in football. Sorry but thats the way i see it
who would people like MM to pick tomorrow? I'm getting a train down from liverpool tomorrow and can't bloody wait. last away game i went to was watford which seems an age ago, and thats the last game we won. So here is the team i would like to see: loach edwards chambers higginbotham mohsni creswell n'daw hyam reo-coker campbell murphy so yeah it is 5-3-2. edward and creswell as wing backs, 3 in the middle and then 2 up top. I think we need to try something new and hopefully with 5 at the back it would make us a bit harder to break down but still keeping a wide option. I also really want to see mohsni given a start, by all accounts he is technically a very good player so lets give him a chance What are other people's thoughts? I'm expecting quite a lare turnout from town fans tomorrow and with 2 or 3 quick wins with the new manager "high" and we can start looking upwards!
PP 5-3-2 is the obvious formation and has been for a while IMO allowing the wingbacks to get forward but not leave us short at the back.
Looks a good team PP but I'm not sure if he will start with N'Daw and Hyam! We need creativity as well as insurance in front of the defence so he will be more likely to have Hyam, Reo-Coker, JET & Martin in the midfield and play a conventional 4-4-2 with Murphs and Chopra up front. My preference would be Loach Chambers, Mohsni, Higginbotham, Cresswell Edwards, Hyam, Coker, Martin Scotland, DJ
lunchtime Just like you I guess Hoppers was just standing up for what he believes in. Everyone has a different way of showing it but that doesn't give you the right to bad mouth him for it. You complain about insults being thrown at people but do it yourself. I respect your position on the matter as much as I respect what he stood up for.
