Ian Ayre wasn't involved with the Dempsey incident. That was New England Sports Network, Fulham dug their heels in over Dempsey over what NESN put on their website.

To be fair to Ayre, the owners gave him X amount to go out and buy Dempsey. Fulham wanted more and it wasnt up to Ayre to increase our bid. He could only work within the parameters that were set.

I got the sense that Rodgers had to rely on his own intuition in the summer hence why he targeted players he had previously worked with. Hopefully the new team have targets lined up ...

    I agree.

Assaidi looks like a good spot though.

    Well look at Brendans signings.
Fabio Borini and Joe Allen were signed because Brendan knew them having previously worked with them.
Nuri Sahin was signed on loan mostly due to Brendans long lasting friendship with Jose Mourinho.
Samed Yesil was signed as one for the future and may have had something to do with the connection between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen manager Sami Hyypia.
This leaves Oussama Assaidi, Maybe Brendan had him scouted for Swansea and instead resurrected the deal and brought him to Liverpool instead. Managers on occasions do this. Rafa Benitez prior to being appointed Liverpool manager wanted to sign Xabi Alonso for Valencia.

I'd go for Theo. Looks the real deal up front and we could certainly do with some more players!

I think he'd get the games he wants too.

Would love a Damiao, Pierre Emerick, Llorente, but can see us getting Walcott or Sturridge.

Bar Llorente, i'd probably have Walcott or Sturridge over the others.

Why can't we have Walcott and Sturridge?!

We could but Who then slides out? Does Rodgers go both barrells and say Suarez---Walcott---Sturridge? But won't sturridge want to be played through the middle?

Meh just put Walcott on the bench!

I'm sure we could rotate them. We definately need the squad depth.

my problem with those two is they are not out and out goal scoring machines. I thinka llorente damiao type, that is what they do. They might add more rotation and all that but We need someone who is boss at putting the ball in the net.

Also don't want to thrash out 30 mil on the pair of them when you could get better for a lot cheaper ( Pierre Emerick from french league valued at 7 mil, 23 scores goals, pacy, etc - llorente and negredo buy out clause is 20 mil euros)

Wouldn't Llorente go to us though? I'm not so sure.

Where as I think Walcott and Sturridge wouldn. I would argue Sturridge is an out and out scorescorer.

One of my worries with BR, can he pull those players off his name like Benitez could? We shall see. BUT here is where you go to Suarez, Reina, Agger, Gerrard the big name players and say get on your cell phones text, call, inform your national team collegues and Reina, see what you can find out about Llorente etc.

Negredo I think would, Soldado Llorente would be difficult, what about the Russian league? They have a few good strikers in there as well. Welliton, Dzagoev come to mind. What about the portuguese league? Where is Cardozo for example? Italian league you could have some ideas as well. Denis from Atalanta, Is milito still getting a game for inter? Just think we should really search around and not just focus on the two over-priced british players.

Reports this morning suggest that Brendan is bringing out the big guns for January and has already informed the owners that he wants not one striker..but three strikers. The reports suggest that Andy Carrolls Liverpool career is effectively over. He will not be returning, not in January, and not even next season.

Its all over the media, all of the media sources have taken this story. From what I've heard is that Brendan Rodgers has already held talks with the owners about the January transfer window. He's identified that the squad is very thin when it comes to numbers. Okay this is blatantly obvious to us fans. Brendan wants this issue rectified.

Why do you act as if this is some sort of inside info you've received? Its all stuff he's said in press conferences/interviews and you're acting as if its some info you've exclusively uncovered.

I've not exclusively uncovered any information, I've just being following reports. If the reports are correct, it could and this could be strikers arriving instead of just one. I want the same as you lot want and that is success. I just hope these reports are actually true. However I won't hold my breath until these three strikers are unveiled the signings are official.

3 strikers would be a waste, it's probably 3 targets.

We have Suarez, Borini... a new one that can score would be a decent attack. We still have Yesil and all them other youths we have bought for the future.

Still need another quality winger so Sterling can rest some games.
