<verygood> NFL is their most popular game TV-wise, though. ...and baseball is "the national pastime" - it's more a cultural thing than a sport, sometimes is baseball.
I can't watch any american sports where the Americans are the only ****s playing it. NHL is bigger worldwide and America are no where near the best team which is why I prefer it. That and the fighting.

ooooft SFTW I'm not a massive fan - I do love it as a spectacle. My favourite team are the Packers - firstly, they have the coolest colours ever and, more importantly, they are owned by the city authorities which is unique in American sport. Usually they're "franchises" that can be moved from city to city (colts to Indianapolis, Rams to St Louis etc etc - it's worse in baseball) but I don't think the Packers can physically be moved and they're the only team this applies to. My avatar isn't my favourite team - positively dislike the Cowboys as they are the ****ers' team in America - loved by glory hunters and Southern racists by and large.
I'm an Eagles fan, no idea why. Just support them. Bib - Cardinals to Arizona is another one. Can't remember what they were called before hand.
when i was a young gap year student i worked in canada for a while - place i worked had an ice rink anyway, you used to have to do a rotation on working the scoreboard at junior games every 4 weeks or so.... i thought the siren and lights went off automatically when the puck went into the net - wrong, it turns out that was my ****ing job i had the score at 0-0 the whole game - angry parents swearing at me, kids crying, coaches threatening the works so i just thought **** it - made the score 135-98 and pressed the buzzer at random intervals hockey harelip ****s
Cardinals were in St Louis - they were named after the baseball team who still play there then the franchise moved. The Colts were originally from Baltimore - moved to Indiannapolis then the Baltimore people had to wait about 40 years before they got a new team - the Ravens. There used to be a Cardinals in Chicago too but they were overtaken by a team called the Bears who evolved from a company team for some food company or something. Here's a fact - the Bears took their name to get fans of the baseball team the Chicago Cubs. The franchise moves in baseball are a bit more emotional for some folk. There used to be an expression in New York - "that would be like taking the Dodgers out of Brooklyn" meaning taking something away from its rightful place - the Dodgers moved to LA The New York Giants (their biggest rivals and, originally the New York Gothams) moved to San Francisco and, perversely the big Giants/Dodgers rivalry lives on - just on the other side of the country - the Mets and the Yankees were originally the Manhatten and Bronx teams respectively but now cover the whole city support-wise now.
