I can't say I'm surprised. (Mostly because BOTTAS' MANAGER IS ON THE BOARD AT WILLIAMS.) I did always think he was going to be a stop-gap and they were going to take his sponsorship money and send him on his way - too inconsistent for F1 long-term.

The question is will he be able to get in elsewhere? Caterham?

Heart sinks a little, but it was always going to happen really. From the start Williams didn't want him.

The report did mention Force India was a possibility though. I would like that, but these next 3 races look like his last. Hope they can be good. Makes it 3 of the 4 drivers i like leaving the sport (probably) next year. It sucks.

In all his time in F1, Senna B has had only a handful of really decent performances. He has always tended to look untidy, which partly explains his inconsistency; but for the most part, he has been soundly thrashed by a fundamentally quicker, tidier, more consistent hot-head called Maldonado.

Some might argue that Senna was never going to get an easy ride with that name and that it would always draw unwanted attention. But I would argue that had it not been for his name, he'd have stood no chance of getting into F1 in the first place. None at all.

It may seem harsh but the world of F1 very much is harsh. And for all concerned, Senna would be better off out of it. He's a nice guy (far more so than his team-mate, in my view); but F1 is no place for such niceties and his driving simply was never up to scratch.

I wish him the best of luck.

some people above have said Senna is too inconsistant... Yet the reality is he was in the points much more than his team mate who is living of his win in spain.

Sad to hear this news hope he gets another seat though part of me thinks its too late <cry>

Maybe he was promised a 1 year deal at Ferrari or something which never came up...
Saying you 100% had a seat would make it very hard to find a seat if you didn't actually have one?

Now i know i'm a little biased, although i do try to be objective, but i dont think all of this is fair. In particular that he would have had "no chance at all" without his name. His junior record, while not sublime in the way of Hulkenberg or Hamilton, is enough to have you knocking on the door. Second in GP2 is the qualification Sergio Perez got in with. Every driver on the grid was born into the right family, Senna got the benifit of his name, if he had been born into Massa family for example he might have got proper formative years.

Senna has been lacking this year though, i cant defend him on that account and F1 is ruthless. I will not believe he is without talent, but he hasn't been able to extract enough of it when its really mattered. I know you like to watch drivers closely so can you shed any light on his qualifying this year. If he's really just that slow it doesn't reflect well on Petrov and by extension Nick Heidfeld and Kovalainen. He seems to think its the tyres (arguably the tired old excuse of every driver) but the funny thing is with missing FP1 he wont the chance to prove it in Brazil.

Well Julius, you might be right but we'll never know. Perhaps I have not been paying attention but I should also say that I did not consider you to be particularly biased!
    :)

I do not mean to sound unfair, but it's my opinion that his name carried enough clout to [be] persuasive, over and above his outright driving ability. I'm in the business of coaching future 'hopefuls', amongst others, and whilst I had nothing to do with Bruno, his driving has rarely looked good enough (to me) to place him in the élite: or what I expect from those with realistic F1 ambition.

This is not to say he's not good. Rather, it is simply my opinion that without the disproportionate interest from sponsors that his name naturally draws, I very much doubt that he'd have raised enough eyebrows from those who matter: teams and sponsors alike.
