WATFORD FC V LEICESTER CITY Welcome to the match thread as the Hornets take on the foxes at Vicarage Road. Once again we face opposition above us in the league as Leicester sit in second! However, they lost their last outing against Palace but Leicester manager Nigel Pearson remained upbeat commenting; "too many of our lads failed to find the form they have shown so far, but what we never did was to down tools." So expect a good battle against the foxes. After Watford manager Gianfranco Zola told BBC Three Counties Radio that the 3-5-2 system was working well for his players we have lost three and won one. The last two defeats were on the bounce and in agonising fashion, against Cardiff then Blackburn. Zola has been rotating things recently but some reports suggest that this may be a thing of the past. This will be my last match thread for a while, probably until the new year, so I hope they continue! Leicester are riding high and we need to stop the rot. Thank you Mex for putting this up. At the open day yesterday in training, team 1 for the first half was: Almunia, Cassetti, Doyley, Hall, Hoban, Pudil, Hogg, Chalobah, Abdi, Deeney, Forestieri I would not be surprised, injuries permitting, if this were our starting line up.
Hi Mexican Hornet, thanks for the post on our board and the invite to come over I am much the pessimist when it comes to Leicester, after our defeat at home to Palace I just don't see us winning this one. I believe we lost this game 3-2 last season? After leading twice? Though don't quote me on that... What are your thoughts on Zola, and your season so far? Me and my mates do this fantasy team selection thing, and my Championship team is Watford, so if we lose then it won't be AS bad!
You are indeed correct on last season result. It was one of the finer moments of last season. As for Zola, i was very sceptical, but i have seen plenty to change my mind and if we can get a decent ref and cut out the silly things we will do just fine. Thanks for doing the thread Mex, its another goodone as ever. RE: the match itself i think this will be very close. But i will go for a Hornets victory with Hoban scoring the winner.
I'm not feeling that confident either. Wasn't it 3-2 the year before aswell? If we play well I can see us sneaking it but reckon it'll be close.
Freddy you are correct, the out come was 3:2 again 2010-11 as in 2011-12 and 3:3 the season before. Could this match have another goal festival?
You didn't lead twice - we went 1 up thanks to Aidy Mariappa's last goal for the club then Nugent got 2 and we then turned it round to win.
Shouldn't this be the second game of Pudil's ban? Any more about the attempt by Cardiff to get a reduction in the ban?
Should be a good game this. Both sides like to attack, i'll go for a 2-1 Leicester win to get us back on track

Remember coming to Watford on the last day of the season a few years ago, with Muzzy Izzet leaping like a salmon to head home the winner. Got us squeezed into the play offs and you guys relegated. Hope its a good game.

I wonder about the word "banterous" because I never heard it before. I think we all know what it means. I cannot find this word in the dictionary but it is a great word and it should be.
