Any player with half a brain would of known that the game was almost over (and that the young, inexperienced defense were under a lot of pressure late in the game from Chelsea's multimillion pound attack force) and would of tried to hold on to the ball, unfortunately Nani is not any player and decided he needed to run directly at half of the Chelsea team on his own, the goal was not just his fault, but without his shocking decision to try a high risk move in the dying seconds of a game there would of been no attack to defend against. Nani is not hated by the fans, but his lack of consistent end product is becoming more and more frustrating with every game he plays, Valencia may not have his bag of tricks but more often than not he makes the right decision for the good of the team. I can't say I would be too disappointed if Fergie decided to offload Nani this season as long as we replaced him with someone like James Rodriguez or Iker Munain.
He is hated, no matter what he does he gets stick. Berbatov got it bad but not like Nani. And any player with half a brain eh? Ryan Giggs not falling into that category then? I seem to recall him dithering about like an idiot on the edge of our box before losing the ball and Liverpool scoring to win the match. Premier League game aswell I think. Did fergie blame giggs for it? Did he ****.
Ah yes, because we dont have any other players on the pitch. Nani was out there on his own. I remember it well. Nani dressed as the 10 other players in 11 places at once. His Anderson costume was pretty good. He was 80 ****ING YARDS FROM GOAL. EIGHTY. 8 Players including several senior players stood between Nani and the goal.
For the record Nani was massively hit and miss last night. Passing was shocking at times and he took far too long. However his goals was the best of the game, one of the best so far this season aswell. Brilliant goal and something Young and Valencia cannot do. Infact not many players we have can produce something like that. So he almost won us the game yet because he loses the ball 80 yards from goal and no other United player can get the ball back ( lets not forget Hernandez was offside leaving Nani with few options and both Fletcher and Giggs were inside and offering no outlet ) its his fault a young inexperienced defender concedes a penalty? I am more inclined to blame the inexperienced defender. Hell most United fans had no issue blaming the young inexperienced De Gea last season ( Premier League wise ) so I see no reason not to blame Wootton here. Hell if its too much for him hes in the wrong profession. The likes of Rooney, Ronaldo, Messi, Rio and many many more were playing at a higher level and having tonnes more pressure at his age. Was Nani to blame for Woottons awful header that cost us a goal?
Also.... I can blame Wootton as its the correct thing to do. Had it of been Rio, Vidic or a senior defender Fergie would of too. Hes probably taking the pressure off Scott as he had a mare from then on. End of Nani's career? Would be a pretty stupid thing to do on Fergies part considering every club will of seen he blamed him. They would go for a lower fee and with 18 months left on his contract we can kiss goodbye to any profit or even a half decent return. So is Fergie stupid? Or is he protecting a young defender who probably felt like topping himself last night?
Like I said before, that goal wasn't JUST Nani's fault, but he's an experienced "superstar" and should of known better, recently Nani has just been terrible, his corners rarely beat the first man, it takes him a dozen crosses just to get one into the danger area, he always holds on to the ball too long and tries to beat too many men and he regularly makes bad runs directly into congested areas looking for a 30 yard wonder goal. It's a shame he hasn't cut out the bad parts of his game because he definitely has bags of talent, but I honestly believe he's trying to hard to emulate Ronaldo when he simply isn't good enough to do it on a regular basis.
You should take a break UIR. Your arguments are getting more and more desperate and nonsensical. Im sure if you go away and think for a while you can come up with better debating points. Nani is not in the same league as player like Rooney and RVP who have flair, work ethic and consistency. Yes he is a lot like Berbatov in many respects. Berbatov was sold. Speak for yourself as when you say people criticised De Gea last year. I didn't. People don't hate Nani, they're frustrated by him. Your list of things he's might as well be blamed for is reminiscent of something the Scousers would say about Suarez.
True, but the fundamental point is the mentality of a player who will happily accept losing the ball when we are a goal up in the last minute. On the one hand it's good he doesn't just head for the corner like many teams would in that situation, but at the same time he should know better than to try a tricky move, for a goal we didn't need, in a match we were seconds away from winning.
No, not really. Massive over reaction to the cold hard fact that Nani giving the ball away in the dying seconds when he could have hoofed it into row z ultimately led to united conceding the equaliser. Nothing will change that, he's a senior player and should have known better, only you know why you can not accept that because it's as clear as day.
Whats desperate about it? Was Nani completely at fault as has been suggested by Fergie and many fans? No. The difference between Liverpool fans making a list for Suarez is its rival fans criticising him, wanting him gone and not rating him or blaming him for everything. With Nani its United fans. Oh and I didnt say I criticised De Gea. Quite the opposite.
Ive not seen anyone say they want him gone and if they have, its not the majority view. You're are completely overreacting and the lengths you are going to, to try and defend Nani, are inviting more criticisms of him. He is inconsistent (and selfish) and your inability to debate the issue maturely is causing everyone to highlight Nani's faults to get you to understand.
Oh and for the record I would like to point out that David De Gea's Man Utd career isnt over despite SAF criticising him and dropping him from the team. He did the same last season as well didnt he? Nor Rio's....... well, maybe come the end of the season.
Hes inconsistent I agree. Though how you define inconsistent is another matter. In terms of producing the finishing product hes not inconsistent but his overall level certainly is. One minute hes amazing the next he cant pass for ****. Last night was very much the same. Theres plenty who want him out. Some would tell you we have Ashley Young so we dont need Nani. These people who suggest an average player like Young who is more inconsistent ( unless of course being consistently average counts ) is a better player..... what? I like Nani, he brings that wow factor to United that until Kagawa and RVP turned up we often lacked. I liked Berbatov for the same reason. I just dont see how hes completely at fault like Fergie has suggested. Sure he lost the ball but are the other players that bad they cant defend for another 10 seconds without conceding a penalty? I know its harsh on Wootton but its completely his fault we conceded the penalty. Teams break all the time. Who was the player who passed the ball Giggs intercepted in the semi final in 99? Was it his fault United scored and won? I cant remember. Maybe they did blame whoever it was or maybe Arsenal blamed the defenders Giggs danced through with ease.
You are picking out instances of other players making mistakes to try and defend Nani, but most of those players make a mistake every now and again (most players do to be fair), however Nani makes numerous mistakes in almost every single game be it his consistently bad passing choices, repeatedly poor crossing, shocking corners that rarely beat the first man or his seemingly terrible sense of awareness for what's going on around him, how can you not see why a lot of people are frustrated with him? We know he has bags of talent and can do something magical but those moments seem to be happening less and less and in between those moments he often struggles to even be worthy of a starting place in the team.
Nani is a very talented footballer and could become world class if he had half a brain ! Yes he has the exciting wow factor in him waiting to come out but that's just the point we see it so very rarely . I've been watching United for a very long time and have seen some great players, some average players and a few crap players. Nani I'm afraid has slipped from borderline Average/great to crap rating this past couple of seasons. Yes he can score the occasional "wonder goal "but it's a very rare event indeed and I have given up on him ever missing the first defender when he takes a corner ! He took his goal very well last night but that was his only positive contribution all night and whether or not Sir Alex was defending young Wooton or not, it was still the senior pro ie Nani who needlessly gave the ball away that lead to Chelskis 3rd goal. I was still jumping up and down cursing him when the penalty was given. I would like to think that all of a sudden Nani will come good, be given a new contract and go on to become a United legend but you know what, it aint going to happen, so we might as well cash in on him before he runs down his contract and goes to ****ty on a free !!!!!
Ignore UIR/UnitedinRed mkII, he's just winding us up again. The worst kind of wum, the stealth wum. Appears to be a fan but always takes the extreme/antagonising viewpoint and drives everyone else a bit crazy with his over-the-top comments defending his viewpoint. You are too obvious UIR, it was blatant on the Next Manager thread when you were attacking all other management options and defending Mourinho, and you're doing it again now. Come on guys, he's just a different kind of wum to the other teams' fans that come and wum on here, just ignore him. There's nothing wrong with defending your own point of view, that's the point of these forums. But what he's doing is ridiculous and over-the-top, don't feed the troll
