Brendan Rodgers has revealed Lucas Leiva is making good progress in his recovery from a thigh injury.

Great news. We must not push him to soon though.

Need him back so badly, I'm looking forward to seeing Lucas, Allen and Gerrard in a midfield.

I think the potential of that midfield is fantastic.

Just me and my opinion of course but would much rather see Lucas,Sahin, Gerrard or even take out Gerrard push Sahin up and have Allen in.

Just think Lucas, Sahin, Gerrard resembles the mascher,Alonso,Gerrard partnership that was so good.

Just say something really negative or ****ish for once. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, it's always a good idea to start on an easy target... Bluff. <ok>

    Great news!

However, I'd sooner he came back in 6 weeks rather than 3 if it means he's more likely to last the whole season without another injury. We've missed him, and he's still one of our most important players. <ok>

    Bring it on ****er. <laugh>

Sahin, Lucas, Suso- tasty, titilizing, tactically tactful.

It hit him really hard with the set back so Brendan needs to manage his enthusiasm which you don't want to dampen with caution because you know it will feck him up if there's another set back.

And what's 3 more weeks of up & down form if we get an entire half season of a fully fit Lucas?

That's what I'm thinking but Allen as Alonso.

I do believe Gerrard's form has slipped, perhaps benching him for a few weeks when Lucas is back and playing Allen and Sahin would be better for the team.

Its brilliant news, Lucas has been sorely missed. He's a calming influence on the midfield, similar to what Didi Hamann was.

I really want to see Lucas back but as with everybody I don't want him rushed too soon. There is nobody in the squad who can play in his position. Gerrard does his best but his defensive work has nowhere near the same quality. Allen is not a DM. A while ago I called Xavi a ball shuffler (ie "I pass, I move, I pass). Allen can pass all day in exactly the same way as Xabi but he does not have that extra skill of positioning, shadowing and slowing opposition attacks. Suso, Sahin and Shelvey are all creative players. Lucas is really the key to make it all work.

So, OK we do need a goalscorer but if you can find another Lucas spend the money 'cos we need both him and The Original!

I'm going to get mortally drunk this weekend and cry into my pint and unearth my giant pain for how much I miss Lucas and can't wait for him to come back. I will make sure my gf hears because it will wind her up. She once got jealous of my home cinema system because I talked about how much I loved it.

It will also probably take Lucas a few additional weeks to get back up to decent/top form as well.

Agree with Dave - he is the key to this midfield.
