They won't be relegated, their squad is much better than their league position suggests, there's many worse teams in this league.
He's a good manager and if you look at their squad it's not bad at all. There are three worse squads on paper than theirs.
You all are probably right. I still wouldnt take that job. They only have 7 points if memory serves me.
On the contrary I would literally say it is the perfect job. They've been so ****e if they go down nobody will blame him in the slightest however he has a really good squad on paper just with no identity and too many loans but he'll get money in january and if he gives the squad character and they stay up he'll be seen as a miracle worker. It's a win-win situation.
They do currently have 8 players on loan. I don't know how many are season-long as opposed to loans to January (Reo-Coker was a 3 month loan). The lack of cohesion and consistency in the squad may be their undoing. But, whether they look good on paper has no bearing on whether they will be relegated or not. I agree to an extent with you Bum Chin - if they go down most people will blame Jewell. But I'd be surprised if Mick would be happy managing in L1.
Reo Coker signed on a FAT on a short term deal, not a loan. I wish we'd have gone for him to be honest, once he gets sharp again he'd fit in our midfield quite snugly.
They do indeed... DJ Campbell (on loan from Queens Park Rangers) Danny Higginbotham (on loan from Stoke City) Guirane N'Daw (on loan from AS Saint-Ãtienne) Stephen Henderson (on loan from West Ham United) Massimo Luongo (on loan from Tottenham Hotspur) Richie Wellens (on loan from Leicester City) Bilel Mohsni (on loan from Southend United) Daryl Murphy (on loan from Celtic)
With us only having two players on loan we need to quickly exploit the loan market to booster our squad.
I really wouldnt want to go mental in the loan market. It's ok adding 1 or 2 quality additions in key areas such as Elmo and FC in the promotion season but when you've got half your starting XI as loans there's something seriously wrong with your squad.
Nah, he's loaded their benefactor aint he? I bet there arent many teams who have spent as much in the Championship in the last 5 years and are still there.
They have a good squad on paper, but it was like Man Citys problem the other year (think it was just after the takeover) they just couldn't get their players playing together as a team
Was it Brian Clough that said "We had a good team on paper. Unfortunately the game was played on grass"
