I'm sure there's some sort of curse at Spurs. Once you sign for us, regardless of how good you were at set pieces before, you automatically become pants during your time with us.

Seen the penalty now. Don't like to see that one bit from Walker, very poor.

i can't work it out. 2 of the angles look like there was contact, the other from directly behind walker looks like a dive.

his dramatic fall definitely doesn't help things. shocker of a penalty, too.

I don't see what Tierney has to complain about, he's nowhere near the ball, I also note he's the only one incensed, other Norwich players are just walking away.

    1min 22sec.

Only saw one angle but it looked like a bit of contact with him throwing himself to the ground. Whether there's contact or not or whether people say it's a penalty or not I don't like it.

yeah the throwing to the ground is what i was getting at. there's just no need to throw those sort of shapes with your body. we're going to start getting a bad rep soon, if we haven't already!!

on notso's video around 1.45 is the angle behind walker. the camera moves unexpectedly, but still, it's hard to tell whether there was contact. Still, if there wasn't, I guess Norwich got justice as it was saved anyway.

From our point of view Tierney had no need to make a tackle in that area or at that time, just plain daft!
I won't get into the diving thing as I guess we've all got that in our teams, but I do agree with you, I don't like to see it from anyone!
Fantastic support from you lot, I believe there was 3500 there, a lot of us didn't turn out because we think we are being ripped off on ticket prices! Good to hear Spurs fans singing "there's only one Chris Hughton" <ok>

Case of "ifs" and "buts" I think. I reckon there was slight contact with Walker but he went down as if Tierney had swung a machete at his knee caps which was pathetic and not needed.

Yeah I noticed the empty spaces at your place, thought something might have been up as you usually get a decent attendance there.

Chris Hughton is an absolute legend and deserves success, so I hope he does well with you guys, providing the results don't affect us anymore!!! <laugh>

I wouldn't go that far, there are far worse players and clubs but I suppose with Bale having a somewhat unfairly gained reputation it might end up with our whole team.

Good to hear, it's great to see him managing in the Premier League again and really hoping you guys do well this season.

Is there any news on Kane, is he still out injured? I forget how long he was put out for but he did look lively in the brief chance he got for you, he's well regarded by many of our fans and it'd be good to see him getting some top flight games under his belt.

I thought it was a penalty from the TV pictures I was watching at the time, and I didn't think Walker dived. Maybe different angles show different things, but I'm perfectly happy with Walker's run into the box and going down if there was any contact.

What I'm not happy about is AVB, putting JV on has to be one of the most stupid subs of the season by any manager anywhere so far. We needed Defoe on for Dempsey, Carroll was playing perfectly well, we didn't need JV coming for a midfield debut.

Also JV needed to be rested for Saturday.

I didn't like our mid before the game as I stated. We needed Sandro out there, and am most miffed that for a manager who proclaims he wants to win every trophy, to field such a weak front 6. He nearly got away with it, and could have but for his daft subs, or lack of them, and Dempsey's piss poor penalty. Which goes back to the subs issue, as JD should have been on for him by then. Maybe JD would have missed the pen, who knows, but he should have been on earlier.

Bigger fish to fry? I don't think so.We haven't a chance in the league and our manager will do another Harry by fielding reserves in the Europa.
One day,can we employ a manager who is totally greedy and wants to win it all.....someone like Bill Nick?

hopefully it'll all go unnoticed. - perhaps chelsea might be able to help us out at the moment with the media attention, taking it away from our "diving". <laugh>

We think Kane has got about 3 more weeks, bloody shame, as you say he looked lively and seems to know where the goal is, my only concern is he's a bit similar to what we've already got, but we need goals so the sooner he's back the better.
Chris Hughton is doing a good job, considering what he had to follow, it's taken a few games but we look a good strong unit now, his ethos is different to Lamberts so he's had to win over the fans. I like his honesty, he's not a whining manager at all, just a very calm polite man in front of the cameras.

I have no doubt that Chris Hughton will do well. you've had a couple of cracking results recently, which is bound to lift the players, too. every new manager needs time, but you've made a good appointment (and must be laughing @ Lambert :emoticon-0136-giggl ) so good luck to you guys. Hopefully the club will back Hughton with the tools he needs. <ok>

Hi BS, I agree we should have fielded a stronger team, but if you look at most of the 'teams' promoted on this site, and other Spurs sites, most of them were definitely 'weakened', so in one sense AVB was going with the flow, though most I'm sure disagreed with his diabolical tactics/subs on the night.

I wanted Sandro playing, most posters in Spursdom wanted him rested, I can see where they're coming from, but we missed him last night big-time.

It just drives me crazy with these reserve team tactics.
I remember winning League Cups and our fans going crazy with delight......not forgetting the crowd around Alan Mullery with the UEFA Cup and the other players had to go to the dressing room because they couldn't get near Mullers!
Am I to believe that our fans don't want to win anymore these days?Because as I read "I'm glad were out.We can concentrate on the League",I wonder what's wrong with them!We ain't going to win the league!!!!!

Heaven help me,but, look. If I wanted to win everything I would have joined the Man U fan club like the rest of Southern England. But I'm from Tottenham and I want to see my Spurs win a few.
Soooooooo.......get the lead out Tottenham managers and go for it!
I wonder if Mr Levy was happy with crashing out of the League Cup.I bet he wasn't!!!!Probably kicked the cat when he got home......
