Just hope he doesn't get his cock and balls out again. Seriously. Look on YouTube for "Mick McCarthy gets his cock and balls out". Funniest video ever.
Wont be rushing to listen to interviews but not going to complain at all. Unless by the end of February we still only have 1 win... (which i very much doubt, just to be clear)
**** me fellas, he's not even in the door yet and people are at each others throats. If this is the support he is going to get he's got to do more than sort the dressing room out, he's got to sort the stands out too. New man, new regime, let's give him a chance and see where he can take us. We need the players to stand up and be counted, the players need us to stand up and be counted. ITFC FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think I will just sit back and watch pots and Kettles fly round the forum. As the ****ty comments are normally thrown in mine (and PTC's) direction its nice to view this one from afar.
Oh **** off sitting on the fence TB and take your mate PTC with you! only kidding, Welcome MM to the real pride of Anglia. first bit of business, smack Cleggy on the snout!
had to post this. don't know why, it just made me laugh...
Morning chaps The problem here is the fact that certain people are talking ****e, has anybody actually said they wont back MM? Not as far as i'm aware, just some of us saying we think its not the best appointment. Warky is talking pants and telling people to go support Norwich because its a disgrace they are not backing the manager, while all the time we are backing the manager and he is the one that wanted Ipswich to lose all the time so Jewell would get the sack, PATHETIC!!!! I hope MM proves me wrong and is the most succesful manager in Ipswich history but i just cant see it!!
Have to echo this Spanish, I have to say I am underwhelmed (similar to how I felt when we appointed Jewell) but as I did with Jewell I will get right behind my manager and give him time to get things right (To the point where I was regularly accused of being a "Jewell lover" just for wanting to see him put things right, even up until the end) and not see us lose.... Good luck to Mick anyway - I hope he gets the full backing of the 'fans' throughout his reign.
Interesting to see the Wolves fan's view on MM and his appointment... http://www.wolvesforum.co.uk/showthread.php?18655-Ipswich-fan-in-peace.....................
Spanish now you know what we've had to deal with for the past couple of years. JWM doesn't actually read what is said most of the time, he just sees you've said something positive about PJ or negative about MM and then goes off on one much like his personality really, there are no grey areas it's black or white but sometimes black and white swap around. I'm warming more to this appointment, his record in this division is probably one of the best, his lowest position (probably about to change) is 7th although all these have been acheived with clubs who have just come down from the PL. If I remember his Wolves team at Championship level played not brilliant but decent football. And going from comments we've seen he is apparently a very good man manager. His transfer record in this division for Wolves was also very good. My concerns are, I'm not sure his personality and style will fit the club, I think he'll need to embrace our traditions. I still want us to play football in the right way, for all of PJ's faults for the first time in the ME era our passing and movement were generally really good. I also would like to see him try to work with some of our flair players like Martin, Taylor, JET and Chopra but I get the feeling he won't and it could be the end of the line for them. Thirdly watching Wolves last season, they looked beaten from the off and were awful at the back!! Like I said his transfer record was very good at Championship level but at PL level it's average (not that we have to worry about that), spending alot of money on average talent and going for workrate over flair, when a combination would be better. It takes alot for me not to back a manager, I've never really warmed overly to any managerial appointment since Burley left to start off with but there's only 1 manager I've ever called for to be sacked or got rid of from the off, in terms of this appointment we could've done better but we could've done a hell of a lot worse, especially considering our position. Tbh I think it says alot for our standing in the game that we can attract a manager like MM when we are bottom of the league!!
But on a more serious note, he fell out with Roy Keane so that's good enough for me to make him a Legend!! (Town fans have to come up with a song about this)
what is the 'ipswich way' these days? does it still mean anything? surely what you need is wins, no matter how they are achieved, and quickly!
Very good spanish!! If only...we must all dream on for a while I fear. Lets all give the bloke a fair crack at the whip, and start judging him in the New year.
A very good appointment IMO Big Mac has had success at every club he has managed and seems the sort of bloke not to take any **** from Clegg. As for the people slating him already it just goes to show that some people love to moan, i do recall a certain whining fan saying that if Big Mac got the job he'd be done with The Mighty Ipswich Town but he does appear to have backtracked somewhat(it might be wise for some people to think before they type a load of drivel that they know they won't back up with action) Come on you Blues......
I would like to apologise to Spanish, KOPR, Yorkie and anyone else I may have offended earlier in this thread. Yes I am the first to admit that I wear my heart on my sleeve and I am sorry for going a bit over the top. I hope that we can all put this behind us and we can all unite behind McCarthy in his efforts to rescue us out of our current situation. I know he wasn't the automatic choice for some of you.
