Fergie just directly blamed Nani for their equaliser in the press conference.

Its rare for Fergie to publicly criticize or single out a player so is his career at United over?

    Not fussed.

Great flair player and on his day brilliant.

Lazy as f--k though and crap decision making.

Fergie also said something along the lines of "Nani is an individual, he likes to beat men and we're not going to discourage that"

I'm sure he was just asked about the third goal and gave an honest answer.

Hate ferguson but i was really impressed with that. Would have been easy to castigate Wooton for falling to pieces tonight, but when you play kids in the League Cup you must back them. Sure he'll kick his arse in private, but that was a class act.

It was Wootons fault completely. Dont care if hes a kid he made the mistake.

Hopefully. We need to play a back 8 when Nani is in the team. He gives the ball away 90% of the time he gets it. Very talented player but a liability. Kevin Keegan must love him.

    Rubbish.

I went mental last night when Nani gave the ball away, you could just see it coming. 30 seconds left on the clock, Hernandez gets the ball and calmly passes it back to the midfield to waste time... It gets passed to Nani, he looks up and what does he see? Just himself and Hernandez are forward, and there are 6 Chelsea players in front of him... "I know, let's just run straight at them, I'm sure I can dribble through all 6 of them!" Twat.

The very first player tackles him, the ball goes forward and the ball bobbles after the Chelsea player slightly miscontrols it. Wootton goes flying in because he thinks that he has a chance of getting the ball clear, unfortunately the Chelsea player manages to get his body in the way and it's a foul, definite penalty.

Yes Wootton committed the foul, but Nani was being a dimwit in giving the ball away when he was under no pressure. We could EASILY have just passed the ball around til full time, Chelsea were hardly making an effort to close us down at that stage. I would say it's 70% Nani's fault and only 30% Wootton's. At least he was playing for the team, unlike a certain Portuguese winger.

Last night I was actually really worried that the poor youngster would be blamed for our loss instead of Nani, I'm glad the manager came out and said that it was Nani's mistake initially. Wootton will learn from his mistake, unfortunately after many, many years at this club Nani has not improved his decision making much at all. :steam:

I think wooton appeared to have lots of potential, thats what we use the league cup for it was a high pressure game and he messed up a bit but rather he learn the lessons here and gain experience than in a league or fa cup game.

He could deff make at United then again he could not, we shall see.

Undoubtedly Nani's fault, the bloke is an idiot. No doubt lacking in the grey matter as only a clueless footballer would have done what he did.

That all said, it shouldn't cost him his job. He's a useful player when he's on it but I reckon he has the rest of this season to wise up or else he might have to bugger off in the summer.

Ferguson handled it very well deflecting the blame from Wooton and, pains me to say this, Donga is right on that front.

Nani can be brilliant and can be equally useless, I'm sure you lot will sell him in January.

Shame that Nani's United career is ending like this. He's more of a threat than the predictable Ashley Young.

Nani's goal was the best at the Bridge all season. Beat two men in his own half. Then ran up the length of the field to receive a one-two and then a superb finish.

    Goal of the month

Nani is his own worst enemy, nobody can deny the lad has bags of talent but he just seems unable to play for the team. He always has to try and beat that extra man or try an outrageous shot even when there is numerous better options around him, his crossing is also pretty terrible for a top player, especially his corners which rarely ever beat the first man, he's very frustrating to watch, plus his moments of magic seem to becoming less and less frequent every season, offloading Nani may be best for both him and United in the long run.

How many seasons do we have to go through all this. each Summer Nani will be off playing in some championship or other, we'll see flashes of brilliance, a bit of flair - and we all think that this might be his season. Of course, all we actually get is the same old, same old - a few 'wonder' goals, an audacious move here and there - but actually very little consistency and very little substance. poor decision making and a selfish streak has meant that Nani has never reached his full potential.

You could actually cut and paste most of that for Ando too.

    That's horseshit <ok>

Ando's only problem has been match fitness and lack of playing time caused by injuries and rotation. When played consistently he's been very good and always looked promising.

He doesn't score many wonder goals either.

Could no other player get the ball back off Chelsea? Could the defender not commit the foul?

If thats Nanis fault then we might as well blame him for everything.

Yeh because balanced players win things dont they. Rooney a well balanced player who doesnt have that edge to his game, Robin van Persie the same. Messi, Xavi, Ronaldo..... all well balanced players.

Now Scott Parker, hes edgy. A well known winner of course with his 97 medals <ok>
