No, really, how did we? I'm not sure we deserved it but I am really relieved for the sake of McNally because justifying the ticket price at the point Spurs looked to be headed for a deserved win would be impossible, and I was waiting to hear all the Steve Morison criticism (Yes, we know he has the touch of an elephant) and how Hughton had thrown it with a second XI line-up and so on...

But now we are through, look at the teams left. Swansea, Chelsea*, Norwich, Middlesborough, Arsenal, Leeds, Aston Villa, Bradford. Other than Arsenal and Chelsea (assuming they hold their lead in which case replace with Manchester United) on a good day we could beat the rest of those teams!

You say that we didn't really deserve it. How many times this season have we perhaps deserved to win and not?

I don't really give a **** that we didn't deserve it now I think about it, I was just shocked that we are in the next round when after Bale's goal it seemed highly unlikely!

We won because of AVBs substitutions. They had a strangle hold on the game and if they had have kept pressing and attacking we would have gone down by more but he chose to put on a defender and the impetus went our way. Hughton made good substituions at the right time which helped us to push on.

Surprised to see attendance over 16,000 to be honest but moving on, a great result.
Lets hope we get another home draw, preferably Bradford, as we'd have a better chance of progressing and maybe a cheaper ticket price!!

A large chunk of the 16K was probably Spurs fans, but hey-ho. We have Bunn/Dempsey to thank for our being in the next round.

We managed that because we are Norwich City. Simple as that <ok>

Spurs brought 3,000 by the way so give or take a few we must have sold 13,000 odd tickets. I'm guessing a lot would have been kids because of half-term so it's not as simple as multiplying that by £30 to work out the ticket revenue, but I think its fair to say DM's pricing strategy was far from a disaster. Despite ruffling the feathers of a lot of regulars there will surely be a lot of very happy punters on their way home from the game right now (as long as they hadn't snuck out before the equaliser of course, and if they had **** em!) and some may have possibly been to their first game so its nice to give others a chance who perhaps can't get their hands on league match tickets. Everyone's a winner <ok>

I bet we'll have a sell out for the Villa game though - what a draw!!

It's odd we're in the Quarters, following the game on the internet sounded as though it was all over. Chuffed though and Villa at home is a very winnable game after last weekend. Well played Mark Bunn by the way!

Hmmm!!! I might just be tempted to fork out £30 (or the equivalent of 10 pints of beer as ILD puts it!!!) to go to this one!! <cheers>

I don't think anyone would begrudge forking out £30 for a quarter final, which we will probably put out our strongest side for. It was the whole principle of the last pricing policy that irked everybody!

I don't know how you managed it or to beat Arsenal but you did and good luck to you. This cup is the sort of competition that you stand a chance of winning and I hope that you do. Well done for last night although you won't get too many own goals. I posted on the Spurs board before the match that you've had a creditable last couple of results ie Arsenal and Villa. Again, good luck in the Capital One.

It was a scrape but we're though and that's that.

I was hoping for a home draw against either the Villains or Norwich City Academy (aka Leeds United) as they would be plum ties with a great atmosphere and we got the Villains. Bring it on.

Considering that Spurs started with a stronger side including 4 top players, City did well with a side showing 10 changes. Bunn and Whittaker did really well, but I thought Fox and Butterfield looked rusty, though their skills showed through at times. IMO, Tettey coming on turned the game and he deserved the deflected goal. Holt and Jackson then added their skills up front at just the right time. Well done CH and co for getting the tactics right while still keeping fresh players for Stoke. Ruddy is going to have to work hard to keep Bunn out!
