Pretty good ****ing phone for £239/279 isnt it.

Makes the ****ing rip off Samsung and Apple phones look like erm.... rip offs.

As far as I can tell it equals both and outperforms them in many aspects for close to half the price. Google are seriously going to piss off some companies and good on them.

I shall be investing in one this month hopefully.

Ive had a go on a 4s. The 5 is exactly the same really isnt it bar a few minor tweaks?

Its ok, screens good and better than any phone I have used but not to the point it makes it a better choice.

I like my phone to be my phone aswell. I know you can jailbreak an Iphone ( funnily enough the nearest thing to using an apple product of my own was when I used a nano 1st get to hack a PS£ a few years ago to see if it worked, completely wiped of all apple material though so in essence a memory card lol ) but I dont actually know what that does.

I have been looking at getting a jailbroken Apple TV gen 2 though, a friend told me about it as I was considering getting Sky 3d. Looks ok for £180.

I used to have a 4 and its not a lot different from that at all to be honest, it looks better and feels quicker supposed to have better battery, but it doesn't seem to do anything new, though i'm no tech geek. I mostly like it for the ipod so used to having an ipod in the past i found its nice to have a phone double as one. I also love how apple products interact with each other so well.

What i did miss was the little bit of excitement that comes with getting a new phone, upgrading from the 4, not alot is different but everytime in the past i got a new phone i found it fun to play with for a while working out how to use it.

You can easily get as good a phone for cheaper, you effectively pay for the name with apple i think, i just really like how its setup so i'm happy to stick with it.

About 200 changes to be fair. My 5 is really fast at surfing and loading up apps, feels so light, looks amazing, charges really quickly and tbh I have always found the after care from the Apple Store in Belfast to be incredible. Don't like the look of most of the Android phones if I'm honest. Some are very good but I'm not totally convinced.....yet. <laugh>

My last 3 phones have been android, before that it was simbian and android was a massive step up on a N95 and N97. The n95 was a brilliant phone. I think the first Iphone was out at that time and they were the 2 phones of choice for most people.

Anyway I like the choice of android phones, so many different styles to choose from. the new android with the Nexus 4 is reported by every review site as being the best ever, not just the best android but the best phone OS. Android lets you do so much. Im not techy as such but I do like to mess about with things when I am bored which android allows with it being open source ( I think? ).

I dont care much for music on my phone either. I have never owned an mp3 player ( bar the nano which never had music on ) as I like music from speakers. The only time I wear headphones is for DJ'ing.

Anyway this isnt a which is better thread ( android for those ITK <ok> <laugh> ) but rather a discussion about frankly the best value phone ever. Whether its the best phone is another matter. Depends what you want it for really. Some people still have the old school phones and fair play, they do the phone bit better than any current phones ( nationally, not so good internationally <laugh> ) but thats about it.

Agree with style you pay for the badge with Apple. Though you buy a google nexus 4 for the google brand and they are seemingly in the market of fair pricing rather than ripping off their customers. If anything google will force Apple to lower prices if the nexus 4 is a success which is highly likely.

Could work out well for all customers, not so much Apples profits, or Samsungs for that matter.

Apparently the best phone on the market is the Samsung Galaxy 3, currently rocking an iPhone 4, the original one. My sister has the 4s and said Siri is a bitch.

All the reviews say the Nexus is better than the s3. More powerful, newer android ( 4.2... s3 has 4.1 ). Nothing on the s3 is better than on the nexus.

I wanted an s3 but I changed my mind. I will now laugh at my sister ( who also has an s3 ) about her inferior crappy samsung. The fool.

The price is very refreshing, and has changed my mind on a potential upgrade. I had convinced myself I'll be fine with my Nexus S for a while longer until now...

The frequent OS upgrades are a definite plus on Nexus devices as well. I usually get them a day after announcement on my Nexus S.

But Nexus 4 definitely has the best price/value ratio out of any phone (or any electronic device for that matter). All made possible because Google really has no intention to make money on the sale, but on the 'consumption' of the device.

Apparently my sister asked Siri "Why aren't I beautiful?"

Siri responded with "I've been wondering the same thing"

Kind of disagree with you about profits. Apple have publicly went on the record even in court to state profits isn't what drives them. Johnny Ives the British designer said in court “Our goal isn’t to make money. Our goal absolutely at Apple is not to make money. This may sound a little flippant, but it’s the truth...our goal and what gets us excited is to try to make great products. We trust that if we are successful people will like them, and if we are operationally competent we will make revenue, but we are very clear about our goal.”

Whether that true remains to be seen with the death of Jobs. If Apple does begin to be obsessed with making loads of money, then IMO they'll decline especially if people like Ives jump ship.

Bollocks Apple are not in it for the profits. They are 100% in it for the profit.

They sell their phones for around £500 and I bet they cost a fraction to make which means profits are very important to them.

There entire range is over priced because they have done a brilliant marketing campaign where their fans will believe any bullshit they spout. easily one of if not the best marketed companies around so fair play to them.

Only quoting one of their leading figures lad, don't take it so personal. One thing which does suggest Apple don't care if they lose customers and even profits is the high price they price some products at i.e the iphone and even the new iPad mini which most commentators remarked were way overpriced.

Apple know the prices of their rivals products and can see the profits the likes of Samsung are making. Do they cut prices? Do they hell.

If google pull this off with the new phone and the nexus tabs then they may well have too.

I wasnt taking it personal and I know it was an apple mans quote by the wording <laugh>
