I have no idea why AVB persists with this shutting up shop approach. If you have ambitions to be a really top team you need to take apart teams when you are in the ascendency. The negative substitution did for you tonight no doubt. Baring in mind we have scored 7 in 9 games so far this year I couldn't see us scoring in a month of Sundays until the whole tide turned on that substitution!
Fulham fan in peace. Dempsey is a very good player but he only took our penalties (in spite of his poor record) because he was our best player. He has never been good with penalties; I used to cringe when he stepped up. Try to give those penalties to someone else in future!
can't argue with that really but I do think Kaboul and BAE at the back woulf make a difference as would parker winning the ball in midfield and protecting the back 4
A bad night, made worse by the constant knocking at the door by trick or treaters. An easy way to get rid of them is to answer the door in a white blond wig, a shell suit, with a big cigar!!
I'm so sick of Harry making these naive, defensive substitutions trying to close a game out. Any decent, young manager who understood tactics would just not do that.
I don't think that it matters too much that we are out of this cup although I was certain we'd win tonight. The last thing that we want is a fixture pile up,let the other teams have that.
Like we haven't got Bale who scored a late penalty for Wales. I don't understand why he didn't take it. We just play so lazily, can't keep a clean sheet, can't defend set pieces, can't score penalties.
My stream went after we went one nil up and I left my computer. I flicked over onto sky sports news and the score line rolled along the bottom and I couldn't believe it! Only Tottenham could mess that up! So arsenal and Chelsea both get late goals and stay in and we let late goals in and go out. Brilliant! The Wigan game now is an absolute must win (not that it wasn't before) as we need to get back to winning ways with some very tough fixtures after.
Chelsea's luck still holds with a penalty in the last minute. 4 goals conceded at home. I think this cup will hold a few more surprises. As for us if we don't beat Wigan well I don't know what the future holds. Disappointing night for us.
What is so exasperating about our result tonight, is that we completely dominated the play, and still ended up losing. AVB has to get things sorted, because we cannot hope to finish top 4 if we let the likes of Norwich beat us, when we ought to have won.
Well, here we go again.A new manager doing exactly what our last manager did.Couldn't care less about cup games.Almost a reserve team? What does he expect? But good luck to the folk at Norwich.Hope they win it!
League. Capital One. Europa. FA Cup,it's all too much and I'm not disappointed that we are out of this one. I didn't like the manner we went out or to which team but they drew at WHL and beat us last year. They're having a bit of a purple patch against us. We'd have struggled a bit against Villa too because we didn't exactly inspire with the 2-0 win did we? Looks like old Lawro was right about us. The Wigan match now takes on more significance because we must perform and not just a 1-0 or a 2-1 either.
