Could Adam Johnson be the lad that finishes O'Neill?

MON paid way over the top for Johnson, a player who is championship level at best. I know I will get stick for this , yet again but how many people had actually watched this bloke play. I have watched him very carefully and just can't recall him having a good game. Looked at out players commitment last night and it was awful Cattermole did ok but Grant Leadbitter was outstanding for Boro, a kid with a heart like a dustbin lid.

I don't agree with that at all. I've watched Johnson since his early days at Boro and he is a top player!
I'm not sure what's going on in his head or in his feet for that matter at the moment but he will come good.

As for a waste of money 10m for Johnson when Liverpool paid about 40m for Henderson and Downing sounds a good deal to me!

I know we all expected an instant impact off him, but he's had a stop start season so far due to injuries. I think abit of time on the bench will do him good!

Thought he was good at Boro. Surprised City let him go tbh honest. Not worth 10m but a good player never the less. Taking a bit of time to get going but when you are in a team where 7/8 players are playing below par you just just tend to get dragged down to that level. Confident that he will be a success. Got to add that I'm no grat fan of winger. They all seem to be 1 good game in 6. Take Walcott, Sinclair, Oxlade,Lennon to name a few. All very hitty missy players.

He had loads of good games for City you clown, every time he came off the bench for them he seemed to change the game and he has stood out in an England game as well.

Honest to god, most of us are pissed off at the moment but try and keep it constructive instead of going on like a ****ing kid.

I love Johnson, i'd have been ridiculously excited if we had signed him. I was desperate for him to leave city and get some real playing time, he's one of the few England players with proper flair along with our Adam and our Ex-Chambo. Trouble is without meaning to sound disrespectful he is so clearly one of your big players so will be marked by 2 or even 3 men, coming from City where he was overshadowed by pretty much every player.

Here here, it's actually quite embarassing how some of our fans are reacting. Everyone was over the moon when Johnson signed now cause things aren't going as planned he's a waste of money and we should never have signed him!

    What ****ing game?

That's absolute horse-****e, he was above average in the Championship, but rarely in the game in the Premier League.

I liked Grant, but he was way short quality wise.

Decent Championship player but was never cut for the Prem. I thought Bailey was their best midfielder.
Catts looked head and shoulders above any of their midfield!

Aye, apart from when he had a clear shot and tried to pass he was excellent.

Grant NEVER bossed a game, although he did chip in some smashing goals.

Absolute rubbish. Leadbitter was outstanding last night. RE; Johnson when did he have these good games he hardly ever played as Mancini knew he wasn't good enough. In addition to this he is a newcastle fan, the devious plakka mag.

Championship player? When Boro went down i watched alot of their games (as Newcastle were there too) and he was different classs to everyong else on the pitch in his matches, almost every week. If they had been able to hold on to him they would have had a good shot at coming straight back up.

He started excellently at Man City and I was suprised he didn't go to a bigger club when he left them (not having a go at Sunderland but i expected him to go to a champions league club).

He's coming back from an injury and a long period where he hasn't been a first team regular, give him another couple of months.

What is the excuse for Sess and McClean?!?!
